‘It is the world’s leading centre for the research and teachings on the societies, politics, cultures and languages of the countries of the Asia Pacific’
Professor Michael Wesley

From The Roots
The stones of the foundation of the Australian National University was laid in 1946.
The college is now home to four academic schools:
- Crawford School of Public Policy
- School of Culture History Language
- Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs
- School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet)
The College also hosts one major centre, the Australian Centre on China in the World.
Today with about 210 academics, 20 research assistants, 170 professional staff, in nearly 7 decades, the university has successfully made an impression as one of the world’s leading research universities. With the College’s focus on Asia and the Pacific more relevant now than ever, ANU is definitely the best place to mould the upcoming generation of regional specialists for the challenges of the Asian century.
