Sydney is piloting a home quarantine plan for travellers who are vaccinated. In the media release, Scott Morrison said that the New South Wales and Commonwealth Government will launch the home quarantine next month in Greater Sydney as NSW transitions towards opening the international borders.

Australia closed its international borders last year in March. And for reopening, Morrison previously said that when the states have 80% of its adults fully vaccinated, the nation would resume its international borders.

The pilot program operated by NSW Health and NSW police will include a seven-day home quarantine for around 175 people. Vaccination will be required, and the currently approved vaccinations by TGA are Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson. The participants will be chosen by NSW Health and it will be based on a risk assessment framework. It may include NSW residents and some residents who are non-Australian.
