Among 160,000 international students who were stranded outside Australia, some have finally arrived in the country today via two flights along with other passengers from Singapore. For almost two years, students have not been able to continue their studies in Australian campuses due to the disruption brought by Covid-19. The two flights comprising more than 200 passengers, including students, have landed at Melbourne and Sydney airports. As announced by the Australian Government previously, all the passengers are fully vaccinated and will not be required to quarantine themselves. Catriona Jackson, Chief Executive at Universities Australia, said that the institutions have been working closely with the Government and health authorities for the last 18 months to ensure that inbound students can safely enter the borders. He further added that there are hundreds of thousands of other students eagerly waiting to rejoin their batchmates and finish their studies together.
