In a bid to open the doors to International workers and students abroad, in an immigration draw, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) opened its doors to Ontario for candidates who had their profiles in the new Expression of Interest (EOI) pool before the pandemic lockdown.

Ontario held the new immigration draw on June 16, inviting 940 to apply for the provincial nomination. As many as 569 applicants with a score of at least 38 got lucky in this draw.

These candidates are now eligible for the Foreign Workers' Stream. However, the International Student Stream numbers remained low at 371, where a score required to qualify a student nomination remains at least 66.

For seeking entry in Ontario for the Foreign worker or the international student stream, one need not apply from Canada. A job offer from the province followed with two-year experience in skilled labour can easily see the candidate get lucky to land in Canada.
