International Students Choose US Vocational Schools over Colleges

Over the last two years, the tuition fee has spiked and so has the number of job openings in many areas. These two are the primary reasons behind students in large numbers opting out of American colleges and universities and choosing vocational schools. The National Student Clearinghouse released their report in which they claim 3.2% and 3.4% decline in student enrolment in the year 2020 and 2021 respectively. This is a significant drop as compared to the previous ten years. Evan Long, a high school student, has outstanding academic grades so far and has planned to start working as an electrician soon after finishing his studies. Unlike other students, he will not be opting for college studies. In the report released by the centre, it was revealed that the nation needs skilled workers to bring the economy close to the pre-pandemic levels.
