In Ontario, the COVID-19 vaccination rates have gone up which has brought a sigh of relief in the education sector. By seeing this pleasant situation, Laurentian University has decided to resume the in-person studies on campus at Sudbury. The campus will re-open in mid-August for faculty, students, and staff. Vice-chancellor of Laurentian University, Robert Haché, said that all the safety measures and guidance will be taken for the campus reopening.

“Every person in the campus will be liable to follow the guidelines given by the Public Health Sudbury and Districts. The students, staff, and members of the university must be prepared for modification of their schedule for the return as per the public health guidance”, he added.

It is not just the Laurentian University but several other universities in Ontario have announced the re-opening of their campus. Universities such as Carleton University in Ottawa, Trent University in Peterborough, etc have announced a safe return on the campus. And the decision is taken after observing the cases and the vaccination rates in the province.
