In New South Wales (NSW), beckons students to return to Australia by year-end, positively. Beginning with the medical and postgraduate students first, NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet wants international students to return to his state. International education contributes A$37.6 billion to the Australian economy, of which A$14.6 billion came from NSW in 2019. Their medical plans permit having their students and students from abroad to be fully vaccinated with Medically approved vaccines like Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, Moderna, and AstraZeneca.

Students residing in Singapore, Thailand, the US, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Japan automatically qualify in the entry category. Countries using vaccines like Sinovac or Sinopharm, used in China and Nepal, will not be granted permission. To increase student numbers, the government also plans to house international students for a 14-day quarantine and a charter flight to bring students in until the direct international route opens. Australia, if plans to delay entry further, will not only lose its international workforce but will also kill its prospects to be at number one with competitors like Canada, UK or Singapore capturing the market.
