The official update from the UK home office is that they have extended the deadline to apply for the Graduate Route if the students arrive by 27th Sept 2021. This decision is taken to keep the pandemic restrictions in focus. The students who are enrolled in different courses and are completing the same remotely are expected to be in the UK by the 21st of June. This was the date fixed for them to apply for the two-year post-study visa. However, this has been changed and has brought a sigh of relief to many international students.

Indian students are on the “ red list” of the UK on 23rd April, which means anyone coming from India was banned from entering the UK. The students faced a lot of issues as they were forced to postpone their plans. With the new decision, students have an extra three months to get back to the UK. NISAU has also welcomed this decision. Sanam Arora NISAU UK chairperson has said that this news is delightful as the UK Home Office accepted our request.

Director of UUKI Vivienne Stern said that Indian students can plan to return to the UK and we encourage them to connect to their respective universities. The students must follow the guidelines of both countries. All the policies of both nations should be followed and known by the Indian students.
