Community Practice Approaches

Consider the context of the case study. Who are the people? Where and why is the place important? Critically think about who has the power. What are the structural barriers (think about disadvantage and inequality) in the case study that shape the practitioner’s community practice approach?

The prime aim of the study is in evaluating those problems for the people having intellectual disabilities and is suffering from profound pain due to the absence of meaningful work. Through the worker’s co-operative, a successful alternative can be provided to both of the sheltered along with the mainstream employees. As per the National Association of Country Behavioural Health and Developmental Disability Directors, place of work for the concerned people is important since an individual trough that can able to develop both of the purpose and self-worth sensibilities (Louw, 2020). Work assists the individuals in improving both of the individual and the family finances through which the social connections get gradually uplifted. The implicate method of the community (Nimbin) is defined as one of the important aspects where the practitioners try in positioning themselves into their suitable work culture assertively and intentionally.

Mostly in many countries, the government is considered as the ultimate power to legislate. At the same time, it is also having certain forms f flexibilities which often get tied up with the bureaucratic red tape. Here it is the responsibility of the local community to gain responsible access if they want to undergo collaborative practices along with modified government policies. However, the structural barriers here involve inequality where often the intellectually disabled person faces problems in receiving adequate compassion and care in the workplace which can be reflected through the lack of co-operation, sharing of the resources, and partnerships (NCEC, 2020). Again, there also occurs a problem of a misfit among the intellectual disability workers in the field of skills, experiences, working abilities, etc. There often rises a lack of sustainability where there exists a lack of economic, physical along with individual’s social well being as well as the communities. In this perspective, the practitioner's community-based approach model should act in an effective way based on which its process-oriented and reflexivity can be achieved easily (Robinson, 2020).

What elements of the community development theoretical method (micro mezzo, macro) did the practitioner draw on to shape their practice. Use course material and course literature to support your thinking and discussion.

Under the case study, a socially inclusive environment got developed after taking into consideration mezzo method, where the community (Nimbin) development process gets facilitated through practitioners to get involved in integration as well as working both globally and locally. In this case, progressive development community theorists have been taken into consideration by the community practitioners through which the mezzo method of community development got implemented (Schwartz, Kramer, & Cohn, 2020).

In this particular case study, the complexities and the work paradoxes get acknowledged through the mezzo method through which both the global as well as the social changes can get reflected. Through this community (Nimbin) development theoretical method, certain underpinning organizational values get explained like the existence of human dignity and worthiness, belongings, involvements along with social justice, and cultural diversity. The other components of the mezzo method are fostering the feelings of acceptances along with belongings and at the same time also acts as one of the facilitators in dealing with the personal changes (Robinson, 2020).

What was achieved? What changed for people? What were the outcomes? Consider how the practitioner used the practice framework to shape how they worked alongside people.

The formation of the socially inclusive environment had bene initiated whose primary target in ensuring the people with having a socially inclusive environment through which the friendships can be created along with the development of the generative relationships. It got established through the Relationship Map based on which the support networks get easily defined based on which the social networking along with their importances can get easily demonstrated (Price-Robertson, 2020). With the help of this, the mindset of the people gets changed where the relationship has successfully turned into friendships along with the development of the co-operative environment. The practitioners through the use of the social inclusion model aimed at formulating a supportive working environment based on which the personal changes got easily facilitated.

This highlights the subjective sense of transformations where the co-operatives ultimately manage themselves and also aspire them in achieving long term future goals along with the expansion of the individual lives. The practitioner through this helped in facilitating the co-operative needs along with the formal participation of the co-operative governance. Through this c-operative governance, both of the formal participation along with the worker democracy gets well-facilitated which is also regarded as one of the effective re-socializing models and also even more democratizing where the involvement of both the co-operative along with the social and economic innovation showed adequate importance in the development of creative government participation (Schwartz, Kramer, & Cohn, 2020).

What are your key learnings and why are they important to you? Articulate what you have learnt and why it is important.

Through the case study, it has been highlighted that the practitioner has successfully highlighted both concepts of solidarity and the existence of mutuality so that the social distress as well as the social injury can be easily overcome. It has been found that the co-operative members, particularly the persons with disabilities and at the same time experiencing meaningful work involved themselves under supportive as well as democratized co-operative workplaces (Louw, 2020). It had also been learned that the existence of the joined-up co-operative efforts which exists between community-based Meso-level organizations. Due to the existence of longevity and sustainability, the way through which the policymakers can think in an afresh manner focuses on the creation of the conditions for the experiments like NCEC to flourish.

It has been found that co-operative development helps in developing the mental work along with the existence of mutual and co-operative enterprise and also the presence of collaborations among the complex systems. From one quote, it can be analyzed that the possible enrichments made possible only through the development of values and expertise in the particular practices through which the mutuality and co-operative enterprises can get easily highlighted along with the presence of collaboration among the complex systems (Robinson, 2020). Through the community perspective model, dependability, engagement. Hence these things are important to take practical decisions in the future which will help an individual in developing distinctive along with focused attention and long term decision-making activities (Westoby & Lynda, 2019).
