Reflective Essay on Development of Advanced Health AssIgnment

Reflecting on observations and experiences is the primary way that makes it easy to learn and access new objective lessons, most of which go forward in shaping the person we become in the future. Clinical skills are necessarily developed with knowledge culminated with guidance and possibly taking an edge in the list of important factors, experience. The author reflects on how the entire system has been designed and helped in his learning and proved to be very helpful in building up his interest in the circle. The entire process of learning and observation that builds up the process for the author is the one by Graham Gibbs who designed the educative and academic structure we know today by the name of ‘Gibbs reflective Circle’.

The entire process was designed around reflecting on observations and experiences that are the primary way of easy learning and accessing new objective lessons, most of which go forward in shaping the person we become in the future. Clinical skills form the most important part in the building of a nurse and it says so in every book ever written that talks about being good at nursing. These processes made me a better professional in his field and also helped me get my system ready for what is coming up in this long journey of caring ahead of me.

The Gibb’s reflective model, the structure on which this entire essay is based on, is a six-faced structure that deals with various heads which tantamount to an enclosed view on the topic. The heads consist of Description, Feelings, Evaluation, Analysis, Conclusions, and Action Plans (Li, et al. 2020). The first section consists of the detailing that the author has been able to gain. This step also consists of answering questions like, ‘When and where did it happen?’ or, ‘What happened there?’ even, ‘What did other people do?’, ‘What did you do’, and ‘What was the result of this situation?’ The second situation in the model is that of feelings and this is the part where the author is questioning herself about the emotions that one might have probably got attached to the activity.

This portion consists of answering the questions like, ‘What did you feel before this situation took place?’, What did you feel before this situation took place?’, ‘What did you feel while this situation took place?’, ‘What do you think other people felt during this situation?’, ‘What did you feel after the situation?’, ‘What do you think about the situation now?’, ‘What do you think other people feel about the situation now?’, ‘What did you feel while this situation took place?’, ‘What do you think other people felt during this situation?’, and ‘What did you feel after the situation?’ The next in line is the section of evaluation which is a blatant analysis of marking of all the standards and this is a crucial stage (Sekarwinahyu, et al. 2019). This ensures the author has properly accessed the situation and can now comfortably express that in quantitative formats wrapped in a perfect subjective cover.

In addition to that the fourth stage, is that of analysis which is the particular stage where all the situational analysis and observations are made. After every short memory we can make a record of our experiences (Dhaliwal, Singh & Singh, 2017). This would, in the long run enable us to access any situation and make us sure of the fact that the job has ensured and entrusted with some positive experiences and certain negatives. The fifth stage is one of the conclusions; this is where we start marking the line and getting ready for the endgame.

This ensures answering questions like, ‘How could this have been a more positive experience for everyone involved?’, ‘If you were faced with the same situation again, what would you do differently?’, and ‘What skills do you need to develop, so that you can handle this type of situation better?’. The final stage that helps bring the process to its end is that of Action, which is the point where the author starts making a report on what are the other action plans that could be drawn to deal with the situation. The author prepares this as a part of the suggestions table for his fellow authors in the future. This is the stage were a final plan is made so that there ceases to exist any problems in the future.

Description

On my attempt to describe the project analysis that I have presented in the paper. I can only describe this as a part of the trimestral projects that led to a growth in me both in the shaping of my knowledge and in the person which later helped me make a better nurse out of myself. This analysis is something that I am conducting to analyze the assignments I had done in her trimester that has helped me in the growth of my advanced health assessment (Ahmed, 2020). In my second attempt, I was able to identify the part of the body that were responsible in causing the problems. For further analysis I, in my third analysis was able to successfully detect the adjacent problems that have already and some which could later arise.

This included some problems in Airway, Blood Circulation, the possibility of an infection, and in an attempt to avoid any sort of complications push the necessary injections to keep the body safe from any additional side effects as such. I was able to successfully jot down and construct a plan for the treatment thus it provided me with the solution to the problems I was facing at that point of time and also filling me in with the knowledge of the situation and the necessary precautions that I might have to take if such instances occur.

Feelings

During the entire assignment I was personally, feeling nervous as this was a tough and complex situation for me as I have not in my life had any experience in handling such emergency and critical situations. The experience left me satisfied on a particular level and gave me the necessary confidence that went on to make me feel that I was not just a normal care worker but someone who had the capability of handling tough situations and also making sure that things does not go south. The entire experience filled me with a plethora of confidence and help built in myself the sense of being able to achieve success when the situation would demand me to.

I, during this study found out that the use of systematic information by the method of flowcharts and looking into all the relevant and related tests would give me the necessary data that could back my decisions and ensure that the patient was secure and safe. This ensured that the patient was well provided for and also that I have done everything in my quiver and ensured that the patient would not fall back to his sickness. During this assignment work, I felt secure with all the rechecks I had done in the situation and also the methods I took to achieve the complete cure.

Evaluation

I was absolutely quick to focus on the key point of the analysis given to myself throughout the trimester. I found out, that I was quick to access the patients’ situation and was thus able to think of the solutions to the problem and implement it in the planning procedure. I also discovered that the way I was able to deal with this with just a part of the information given out in the report and still get back with the analysis of the situation and thus lead to the best possible results was a success and hence enriching. I realized that I was also successful in analyzing critical and complex situations based on basic symptoms with a high rate of accuracy and thus must be confident of my diagnosis and thus get to helping more people with high levels of self-confidence.

The only negative that I felt in the process was here lack of faith that I contained in myself at the beginning of trimester which caused me to hesitate to make certain calls which could have led to bad repercussions, but luckily for me, it did not. I realized that in my experiences I have successfully followed almost all of the standards presented by NMBA, by thinking critically and analyzing nursing practices, comprehensively conducting assessments, developing a plan for nursing practice and providing safe, appropriate and responsive quality nursing practice.

Analysis

When I was getting to go on a roll of observing all my actions and calls in the latter part of this trimester, I realized that the delay in calling the critical decisions has led to changes of patients getting into critical conditions have realized that these are to be improved and made certain of. In addition to that I also had a realization that the ABCDE (Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability, and Exposure) approach was effective in making decisions and something I must always keep a close eye for when her actual practices begin. Moreover, I made deductions that with detailing and confirmed structure less number of mistakes were encountered and it was better in making a detailed analysis of the situation later when sitting down with the professor for assessment. A focused assessment later could help get the situation correctly and make better calls for the situations that might arise in the future. This detailed analysis would help in the process of getting the work done for further patients and help make the lives and situations of others involved in the same crisis better.

Conclusions

Reflecting on the situations that were put in front of me I realized the fact that I could have been quick in asking for help of the professors and other seniors at the beginning of the trimester to help and assist me in the complexities of my assignments that I was facing. This would have made the solutions, I have, as of today, come to me faster and the situation would not have gotten delayed. I also made the inferences of the fact that the knowledge I had gained all these years with my work is worth counting on for and is worth relying upon, even in complex, critical, and life-threatening situations. I realized that she has been given an opportunity and thus I would like to grab the opportunity of knowing the complex Operational functions and many more of such complex diagnosis that would in the times to come help me achieve further success and involves lesser risks.

Action

In the future, I look forward to working on patients in the emergency sector and relieving them of their pain. I am also of the hope that I will be learning a lot by watching the work of my senior nurses and make the calls like they do- with expertise, surety, and a lot of rapidness. I plan to consult my professors whenever I am in distress or stuck with a situation in mind. The area that needs a change is the fact that I am less filled with confidence and this has led to some delays and in the line of the profession that I am in, a second’s delay can result in disaster. I must realize that the calls I have made in the past, most of them have been accurate and thus make the necessary call and help the patient who is there in distress. There must be a strategy that helps evaluate my current advanced health assessment which would in turn be focusing on the timing, accuracy, and thoroughness that has been projected in the assessment and allowing a senior nurse to watch, listen and evaluate the assessment once it has been completed.

I provided a complete analysis and descriptive approach in the piece that can help access the facts that is based on the Gibb’s structure and can result in improvements and gain of experience that further helps the patients with their sufferings. As it is evident from the facts, it has helped in my developed and growth in the advanced health care and this piece was about describing that. I can now see myself being comfortable around serious cases, looking forward to finding the best alternatives. I have also noticed that now, without any delay I don’t hesitate to go to my seniors and professors to ask for help when necessary. The entire project was seeming a helpful measure that helped me gain confidence on my knowledge and end up taking close calls.
