Adam is a well educated lawyer and a politician from Syria. Sarah is a feminist. Both were forced to migrate to Australia by ship so as to escape the political pressures that they face back at home. They lacked the idea that when they arrive in Australia they would be forced to spend a measurable amount of time on the Christmas Island in the detention center. Using their skills, they both started manipulating and educating the masses, equipping them with knowledge of their rights and how they are being oppressed by the government to make them escape home. This book was released in the year from the characters of Adam and Sarah who grew both in Syria. Sarah lost all of her family members or at least the ones she remembers and Adam is surviving with his father who is approaching old age, Adam wanted to liberate his country from the fangs of the corrupt leaders, this made him study law and use it as a tool against the corrupt leaders. Sarah was so disturbed by the brutality faced by women in that country. She was well educated and informed and wanted to liberate women by instilling knowledge to them, she became a well-known feminist. Sarah always was associated by female riots and demonstration in the country’s capital and attracted the attention of the police department. She later learned that there are some forces that tend to act against her and her life is in danger. Adam was also constantly arrested even with no trial and yet he always led demonstrations and opposes the government in almost every decision they make.
They were terrified about their lives and opted to flee to Australia. The met at the harbor and boarded the same boat. Adam manages to escape with his father and Sarah helped in taking care of them both as they survive the trip. They arrived in Australia and were placed in a [lace in the Christmas Island, a detention center. At the detention center, they did not keep quiet and still spread their gospel. It was rumored that the two were captured in Australia’s Christmas Island detention center after twelve months of captivity. This was a bad image for the Australian government and this was the chance for them to use and escape. They managed to escape by later Adam died of malaria and left his father to stay with Sarah. Sarah decided to move with Adam’s father to Brisbane where they opened a school and Sarah became the head teacher and Adam’s father retired back home.
