Introduction to Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and Medicine

The thesis statement of essay is, “Should health robotics and artificial intelligence be implemented in all healthcare settings?” Various articles have been proposed in support of implementing artificial intelligence and robotics in healthcare sector. Artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics has grown enormously in healthcare sector with potential to transform care delivery to the patients. Various researches have been carried out in healthcare and yet continues to grow, still there is lack of understanding about AI and its use is unclear for many health professionals. AI is computer science branch which can artificially generate and stimulate smart behaviour like human in intricate technologies like robots. It can recognize different care patterns that includes diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and predictive health services (Eysenbach, 2018). Although, AI is in the primary growth stage in relation with clinical willingness, but its applications caused several advancements in healthcare sector.

Improved Productivity of Healthcare Settings by AI and Robotics

Both AI and robotics are important for improvement of healthcare sector with several applications. Robotic assistants help in maintaining electronic health record and vital statistics of patients (Belanche et al., 2019). Robotics and artificial intelligence have potential to enhance the productivity and minimize cost by prompting research dedicated to understand their implications. AI helps the healthcare workers in understanding the daily patterns and needs of human, and providing leadership and care for healthy life (Wiljer & Hakim, 2019). According to Tarassenko & Watkinson (2017), since 1950s during initiation of techno-medical practice, its major goal is to replace human doctor with help of AI, which can be now become successful. Moreover, their study shows optimistic development of AI in healthcare sector, but it goes further with a challenge to access eloquent technical benefits due to its rare clinical usage. AI can produce healthcare profits and perceptive clinical influence by keeping healthcare within touching distance. In particular context with family’s satisfaction for AI and robotics, it has been seen that is gives better recovery of children with less pain than vaccination (Beran et al., 2013). Specifically, if the future of AI has been examined in healthcare, then it may indicate about uncharted paramount formal education application of AI and its existence as machines to assist human not to replace them (Barbour et al., 2019). Overall, researchers indicate that AI and robots enhance the productivity by minimizing costs of robots and appreciate their implications.

Conclusion on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and Medicine

The role of AI and robotics has been critically analysed in context of the question “Should robotics and artificial intelligence be implemented in all health care settings?” It is concluded that, yes, both artificial intelligence and robotics can be implemented in all healthcare sectors for providing effective care treatments to patients. This essay summarizes and review the earlier data to help researchers and healthcare workers to know about the major elements of AI and robotics. Robotics monitor patient vital statistics and AI improves the capability of healthcare workers in better understanding of patient’s daily requirements and gave better feedback direction and care to maintain their health. Moreover, it is important for healthcare workers to learn about AI and robotics to provide safe and quality care for betterment of healthcare industries.
