Woolworth organisation is selected in the study and the innovative approach is adopted in the firm to enhance the quality of product using digital methods. The study comprises of various sections as the first section identify and describe the purpose of the innovation and the practice in context of the project (Parkinson, 2018). Identify and Describe

The purpose of the innovation is to enhance the product quality management of the organisation. As the organisation is dealing with the products that are comprises of fruits, vegetables etc which leads the organisation to see the quality of the products time by time. The organisation is facing the issue in delivering best quality of products to the customer therefore; food innovation is implemented in the organisation in order to eradicate the challenges faced by the firm. The firm will add software in the stores that notify the employees about product expiry or the date on which the products are filled in the organisation (Hepworth & Newman, 2019). For example if product such as fruits vegetables which can easily degrade then the system will automatically the date on which the items are filled in the organisation and after two-three days the system will again notify that the products is started degrading. It helps the organisation to provide good quality of products time by time and eradicate the products that are not fulfilling the standards before customers can use them.

Implementation Process

In order to implement this idea organisation should work upon the software by taking the help of IT department. The IT department of the organisation will develop software that helps organisation to create software which can notify them the period of filling the items and also notify the date on which the item should be eliminated from the stock (Siebers, 2018). This software should also include the feature of adjusting the notification dates as per the different products for example vegetables and foods the notification will be given on two to three days after the full filling of stock. In case of dry materials the notification date to eliminate the stock will be set differently. The staff can work with the innovation by taking training from the organisation in order to run the software. The staff and the IT department play a protective role in this process.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this innovative process will be under the IT department of the organisation and the employees. If IT department can implement this kind of software then it would be easy for the firm to eradicate the issues of product quality (Chambers, 2020). The organisation is responsible to take training under the experts in order to use the software implemented by the IT department. All the departments of the organisation needs to be very proactive to conduct this innovation in the firm.

Development and Trials

In order to make the software the IT department of the organisation will conduct trial and try methods that can help them to implement this software. The total cost of this trial is within the version that is up to one lakh. The total cost in conducting trials will be one lakh because there are various programming languages that need to be known by the employees in order to implement this feature in the existing software of the organisation. Various factors will be considered such as scheduling time of different products as per their qualities and also the notification feature that help the employees about the elimination date of the products. The organisation has adopted various trilas methods to come up with the feature that can notify the elimination date of the products.

Resources

The resources that are required to implement this innovative idea are the uses of different programming languages for software that cost very high. It is very important for the organisation to plan a budget of the software that will be needed by the IT department and also to manage the trial cost of the software. The other resources such as the experts in IT department should be capable of implementing this feature in the present plan. Apart from this, software that is used for the employees to manage the working of software is by taking the training from the experts. There is different cost of the software’s and equipment’s that are required to implement the software that organisation wants in the workplace. Total cost of implementing this software in the organisation is a 50,0000 per Store.

Risk Management

The risk that can arise in the project is the improper information about the trial and some products such as vegetables and fruits as these products will be degraded easily as the degradation date is not fixed so that it is difficult to manage the timing and date of fruits and vegetables. This will lead to cause more wastage if the fruits and vegetables are take way before their expiry date (Boatemaa et al., 2019). The organization is one of the biggest organisation in the world as the super change of the organisation is working very efficiently but the product quality are not up to the mark which is one of the biggest challenges faced by the organisation. The biggest risk is considered as the opportunity for the organisation if the management and operation team works effectively.

Measure of Quality

The quality of the innovation is measured by testing and trailing the software in the workplace. The software will be embedded in the systems and then the implementation and effectiveness of this software will be checked by the employees. Some issues may arise in the driving of software then the employees will inform to the department and fast action will be taken by the organisation. For the quality management of the organisation this is considered as the biggest pillar which aids the organisation to accomplish all the defined goals of the organisation.

Communication Method

To communicate this innovative plan in the organisation the department meeting will be conducted with the stakeholders of the organisation after the implementation of the software. The IT department will communicate with the managers and the employees in order to make them aware about the use of software (Gibson, Kintominas & Symington, 2019). The other department of the organisation will be trained by the experts in order to use the software and also to see the mistakes or errors occurred during the use of software. Apart from this, the communication required to manage the change in the way staff work and the queries, complaints and follow up will be conducted through the meetings between the managers and the employees of the organisation time by time.

Finalization

After the implementation of the software the organisation will quickly implement and feed the software on the all systems of the stores. After the success of this software on a single firm this software will be added in each store of the Woolworth. All the members of the IT department will be rewarded and interactive session will be conducted among employees and IT department of the organisation (Boso, Adeleye, Ibeh & Chizema, 2019). The celebration will shortly be conducted in the organisation by conducting a short party or a short break between the working hours. The documents which are associated with the software will be kept very properly and the login credentials will be kept very confidential in order to eradicate any kinds of issues.

As the organisation is dealing with the products that are comprises of fruits, vegetables etc which leads the organisation to see the quality of the products time by time. The resources that are required to implement this innovative idea are the uses of different programming languages for software that cost very high.
