Management Principles

Referring to the theories of motivation, which two motivation theories could Jamie Westbrook adopt to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization?

Jamie Westbrook is running a famous hairdressing saloon. Her saloon is among the top bars due to her professional skills, hard work, and friendly behavior. But for some time, her bar is in crisis due to countries' economic issues, and she is facing many problems because of this. One day she lost her temper due to the illegal leave of two employees, and due to increasing loss in the market, she shouts on some of her employees and also transferred one of her responsibly to her highly skilled employee Victoria. However, she is still facing trust issues on her. And she again thinks to handle this work by herself.

As her saloon is striving to take its position back, as a manager, she needs to apply some motivational theories. There should be a use of McClelland's approach, which relates to acknowledgment, affiliation, and power, her employees, need declaration instead of dry behavior (Verma, 2017). They are serving organizations for many years, and most importantly, they are not the reason behind these crises. In the scenario of coral and holly, she needed to accept their earlier request to join the concert to fulfill affiliation. Also, there should be a need to build trust in employees to make them more powerful.

Also, there should be a need to apply Vroom's theory, which states that she needs to put trust on her employee's skills, give them responsibilities and make them independent about its decisions, and for their success (Parijat, Bagga, 2014). Appreciate them like in the case of Victoria, she should be given a fair chance to handle reports, Jamie needs to put trust on her. And if she succeeds in addressing this major issue, she should be rewarded with the best. Employees are also facing financial problems; there should be a need to announce bonuses so that they work with more enthusiasm and dedication.
