Future of Work

Today, the whole globe is held upon the automatization and globalization essentialities. Therefore it is a requirement for all students in several institutions and technical colleges to ascertain the most effective path to employ within the current progress in business activities globally. Recently, there is the development of various career paths that prove to be very useful in the future, through the employment of sufficient skills that are aligned to ease the current context of the working society; For instance, critical thinking, written communication skills, problem-solving capabilities and efficient knowledge on math and science fields. It is an added advantage for every young person to initiate individual talents in each activity they are concerned about. Recently, every student undertaking a particular course to consider the advantages of partaking a specific course of choice to advocate for outstanding skills to ensure they can fit in the future environment encompassed with the novel advancements.

On my career path, I am currently undertaking my studies with the mindset that every skill I find out as am progressing with my studies will be vital for me in every field I will be anticipating to venture. Though physical therapists, health careers, space technicians and information, and communication managers are the most demanding jobs in the future, I find a software developer being significantly challenging as of the current technological advancements. Today, I often see much manual work being aided with machines that function comparatively to the described instructions. The use of artificial intelligence to simplify tasks being executed has rocked the employment industry rendering many individuals unemployed. However, according to Foundation for Young Australians (FYA), they argue that it has to be referred to as Augmentation Intelligence (AI), which is focused on helping people executing their tasks rather than the AI, which has often been termed to snatch work from people. My reason for choosing to venture into the software developer path is mainly based on the rising digital technology implementation into various systems, especially in the manufacturing industry. Today, approximately 12% of companies have commenced implicating AI technology in several departments of their Industries (Francis and Keegan, 2006). Therefore, this supports my software development path to be employed wholly in the current and coming times.

To ensure that I remain firmly grounded in my software developer career path, it will not only require my formal education skills from class, but I must implicate critical thinking skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills (Kochan and Dyer, 2020) to ensure I fit the current requirements in the job industry. Today, most of the employees are not after employees who can fill the voids in the company to increase the workforce, but they, after employing experienced individuals in a specific field who will inculcate other interpersonal and critical thinking skills to ensure efficient work. According to Foundation for Young Australians (2017), individuals who can utilize problem-solving, critical thinking, communication skills, and efficient science, maths, and technology (SMAT) knowledge stand higher chances to fit in various fields in the future. Problem-solving will ensure that every activity undertaken at my working place will not include conflicts among employees since the inefficient working environment will pave the way for the low quality of work being performed. Similarly, most of the time will be sent to the workplace. Thus, it is essential to have such skills to ensure you operate well with others within your workplace. Communication skills will be the core skills in the entire workplace since employers want employees who will be coping with their fellow workers to ensure that they produce quality work.SMAT knowledge will be another mandatory requirement since most of the computing and analysis will employ all these three skills. According to (Mason et al.,2019 ), in the decade to come, employees will be after individuals who will implicate accuracy and proficiency while developing something rather than creating room for more corrective measures after the product is in the market. Therefore, this implies that carrying out activities in an efficient manner will be very demanding. This means that students will have to learn, think, and execute various tasks more smartly. All this will be possible if I can learn new things abundantly, having technical skills, and analyzing effectively before performing any given task.

Regarding the Human Resource (HR) sector, new approaches are employed which are not focused on the kind of work being executed but rather, the people used to run such jobs. In the past, most employers focused on the work their employees were doing rather than people to ensure productive work. Today it is evident that HR is transforming to people by emphasizing the kind of people executing a specific task and not the job being worked out. This has been exemplified whereby HR managers have initiated skill-based focus while employing individuals as it will be useful in creating a more successful business firm within the company. Today, most employers are focusing on digital technology, talent, and competition and employee experience as the primary agents of HR to people transformation. As the future of work experience keeps changing within the current context where critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills are among the essential elements in each employee, HRs future is also evolving to a new approach. I have discerned that the talent of an employee has been added to job requirement since they believe that they will be competent in such a task. Collecting feedback has also been a new advancement in the HR sector since most companies are depicting progress as of the current future work skills.

The technology utilized is being modified to meet the current work skills and the anticipated future ones. The implication of augmented intelligence to aid people in their work operations has also been integrated into HR, which is one of the core approaches employed in the trending future of work experience (Rui, 2017). Today, most HR teams are using mobile and cloud technology in their automation and globalization approaches. Eventually, with the implication of new skills for an employee in the HRM, most HR teams have now shifted to ascertain well competent and skilled personnel for specific jobs. This has then made HR to be working at per with the trending future of work readings. When a company employs an individual with efficient communication skills, critical thinking, and is capable of working with the ongoing technological advancements; they can execute several tasks. For instance, an employee with good communication skills can initiate teamwork and solve conflicts arising within the job. Critical thinking will enable them to be creative and develop the most promising innovations, while technological capability will ensure an employee can operate on computers integrated into machines using AI technology.

In conclusion, I have discerned that the current FOW is hugely articulated to automatization and globalization across the globe with the urge to suiting only the individuals with efficient demanding (critical thinking, good communication, and technological skills). As a software developer is the most outstanding career choice, I find it only viable if I learn, think, and execute all my services in a smart way to fit in the future of work trends. On the other hand, HR transformation to people and its focus on technological advancements have made it align with FOW's essentiality factors. Similarly, its implementation of the skill-based approach and new ways of operations are among the core factors of meeting the FOW trends.
