Introduction to Effective Business Communication

Effective business communication helps business organizations to maintain a smooth functioning within the global markets. Communication is one of the major factors that has been helpful in maintaining the successful operations of a business organization. Small-Group/Team Communication

The communication among the small groups and teams within the organization helps in maintaining the communication regarding the mission as have been set by the organizational management. The proper communication among the teams of the organization helps in achieving smaller success rates within the organization (Butchibabu et al., 2016). The positive communications within the various small groups within the organization helps the company to achieve the better success rates in the given markets. The communication within the small groups or the teams within an organization help the concerned management in understanding the issues that the employees of the organization has been facing in their daily work life (Gervits, Eberhard & Scheutz, 2016). The small group communication or team communication as have been taking place within a company plays a motivational role. The positive and effective communication in increasing the productivity of the concerned group for the team by providing a proper motivation to the members of the group thereby helping them attend better proficiency, which in turn affects the overall performance in a positive manner (Jahng, 2012). However, in this regard the concerned management as well as the team members should abstain from spreading on negativity within the concern (Lacerenza et al., 2018). The negative or improper communication might lead to situations and confusions thereby hampering the productivity of the team and the organization at large.

Intercultural Communication

In the present scenario, business organizations are observed to be multinational in nature and employee staff from various cultural backgrounds. This results in a cultural diversity within the workplace thereby leading to intercultural communication among the staff (Henderson, Barker & Mak, 2016). The huge diversity among the organizational workforce is observed to make way for issues in the communication among the staff members. This is majorly due to the differences that exist in terms of the symbols, gestures and patterns used for communication across various cultural backgrounds (Mao & Hale, 2015). The multinational organizations are observed to train their employees on the cultural factors maintained within where is international markets (Schmidmeier, Takahashi & Bueno, 2020). This in turn assists intercultural communication among the workforce. In order to function in a proper manner as well as improve the organizational performance, intercultural communication is a necessary tool used by multinational companies (Murtiningsih, 2016). The improvement in the intercultural communication further helps in formulating strategies that would enhance the performance of the company within the given markets (Rozkwitalska, 2019). This helps the company to attain a better competitive edge in the global market scenario as compared to the other companies operating in the similar markets.

Organizational Communication

Effective communication plays a major role in the development of the performance maintained by the company in the given market scenario. Organizational communication refers to the communication that takes place within the workplace, which influence the job satisfaction of the employees as well as influences the business strategies that are maintained by the concerned company (Goris, Vaught & Pettit Jr, 2000). Organizational communication can be divided into four different types based on the formal nature of the communication, the audience for the communication, the medium of communication and the direction of communication (Foste & Botero, 2012). Directional communication is generally followed within the organization to convey messages to both the higher management and the lower level employees of the company. This also helps in maintaining proper communication among the employees who have been serving at the similar hierarchical levels (Anderson & Level, 1980). Organizational communication also helps in highlighting as well as clarifying the various issues that are faced by the organizational employees (Charles & Marschan-Piekkari, 2002). Communication within the workplace is known to follow certain specific content words and styles of delivery in order to maintain facilitation of the conveyance of concerned messages towards the higher-level employees or the lower-level employees serving the company. This helps in maintaining the employee engagement within the company.

Conclusion on Effective Business Communications

In lieu of the above discussion, it can be argued that effective organizational communication is helpful in improving the performance of the company in the global markets. The proper organizational communication further helps in increasing the employee engagement within the company thereby leading to a development of the competitive edge that is enjoyed by the company in the global market over the other competing organizations in the similar markets. The essay aimed at discussing the importance of the effective communication within the internal departments that have been serving to maintain the overall performance of the concerned company in the global business scenario.
