The effectiveness of the strategies can be evaluated by observing the children’s behaviour within the service area.

The average surface heat has increased globally by 1.6 degrees Fahrenheit since 1906 and the impact of rising temperature has resulted in global warming. The increased temperature is melting glaciers and sea ice setting animals on the move. The change in climate that encompasses extreme weather events, rising seas, shifting wildlife population and habitats, is affecting our planet’s weather and climate system. All of these changes are occurring due to adding heat-trapping green house gases to the atmosphere. Due to global warming, climate change, ozone layer effects and greenhouse effect the ice is getting melted throughout the world which consist glaciers of mountain, west Antarctica’s ice sheets, Greenland. Increasing temperature is affecting wildlife and their habitats. Many species are on move due to the temperature rise. If the temperature continues to rise, the sea level will expectedly rise between 10to 32 inches by the end of the century, storms and hurricanes will me stronger, floods and drought will be very frequent, there will be lack of fresh water, diseases like malaria will be wide spread and our ecosystem will continue to change.

Moreover, they can also become efficient with cooling and heating of their residential buildings. Agriculture practices must use less chemical fertilizers and encourage organic farming. Some barriers in adopting sustainable changes are lack of understanding, lack of commitment, lack of trust, reluctant to sharing information etc. Families can be motivated for adopting sustainable changes by creative approaches like writing, painting, music, drama and textile arts etc.
