Team Leader: Hi. How are you? And how are you finding thing in the organisation?

Disability Service Worker: I am good. Yes, the organisation is working hard to achieve its goals. The passiveness, which I feel about the organisation, is the team; there is a strong sense of relationship between the team members. This creates a good understanding and communication with us and further it lead to a productive work as well.

Team Leader: Great.. how will you add your own skill set, so that it will grow the organisation further upwards.

Disability Service Worker: I would like to introduce the assessment scoring and feedback. After the completion of the project, there is one limitation of the feedback of the project. According to me, once the project delivered, there must be software or a tool, which can be updated. We can record our findings and learning outcomes based on the project in the tool. This will create the development of internal tool for internal purpose. It will also act as carry forward knowledge tools through this we can train younger minds and new joiners.

Secondly, the training, seminar and conference session should be done on regular practice between inter-team members or intra-team members. The session will help everyone to interact with the colleagues and senior member of the organisation as well. In meeting, we can discuss the small performance based goals and can check on how these goals can be maintained for long term. The activities comprise of three development steps: learning, connecting, and creating. Creating the content and sharing everyone’s skills or insight will be valuable toward the professional development of organisation.

 Professional development opportunity, I will like to create a small capacity building team, that will responsible to engage, educate, consult, and co-ordinate with the local community group. The interaction with local community group will help in developing strong relationship with our organisation. this will create positive coordinating support, awareness, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, also help in assessing resource and advanced care planning. The social disability organisation continues growth in accordance with government, non-government and emerging private sector. This will create the characteristics of self-determination and holistic approach among employee that can further contribute an appropriate and targeted services to meet the complex need of the society.

Team Leader: okay.. I got your insight on goals but, if things been done as per your plan. How will you identify different ways of measuring progress?

Disability Service Worker: we can measure each goal effectively and this can be discussed as follow:

  • Assessment/Feedback: the assessment/feedback approach will provide a qualitative information on how good the projects is delivered. With the assessment, we can rank ourselves on the qualitative work we done. This is a project-end evaluation strategy, which ensures that the development areas are not arbitrary but are aligned toward organisation strategic priorities. By connecting the plan with qualitative and quantitative metrics, we can ensure that the performance of employee will be based on increase focus, investment, and thorough intensive.
  • Training/conferencing: Seminar session is the responsibility of every employee of the organisation. Thus, time table need to be generated for session such that every employee get the chance. The session should be made compulsory twice month. During the session, employee must focus light on their learning, work culture, new ideas in manageing work, and additional information they wish to add with respect to organisation goal. Moreover, the employee must be rated for his insight toward organisation goal achievement. This could act as a motivation factor for employee to work on session. After six months, we have twelve session and thus twelve new ideas that could be implemented in future for achieving goal.
  • Business Networking: business networking can be determined by the degree of organisation involvement in social activities. This can be measured through the formal meeting with government, non-government and private entities. The main topic of discussion would be disability community, their needs, preferences, and the social determinants faced by them. The main motive of the business networking is to provide sustainable lifestyle with earning potential to the disable community. The networking will also increase the awareness about challenges faced by disable communities and how our organisation is working to provide best possible way in saving their lives.

Team Leader: Good great insight from your end. I would like to ask one thing that what do you think that with these goals the objectives of organisation can meet.

Disability Service Worker: The goal, which I have discussed above, are the small scale goals which if implemented in an organisation can help the organisation to attain its growth. These goals will also help in attaining the personnel development in staff member, team, and other colleagues, as all the goals are directly or indirectly related with learning, training, and professional development. So if we partially fulfil the goals, it will not hamper the employee personality, although will gain a positive professional experience.

This is a regular and a slow rated goal as it can be achieved by working regularly.

This is a long term goal, require around seven to nine months. The goal require time during initial phase requires time, but once achieved will provide a strong base for the organisation

How will I know when I have achieved them? (measurement)

When the carry-on knowledge’s feedback boxes fills up with the lots of views, then the objective is met

Every six moth, the employee insight will be evaluated, thus it will help in determining that the goal has been achieved

Small interaction with client can determine the successful achievement of the goal

What will I do to achieve these goals?

(e.g. formal and informal ways of learning and developing)

This require formal as well as informal ways of learning like talking with a colleagues, or facing a discussion in a board room, both approaches can be useful for accomplishing this goal
