Workarounds in an SAP Environment

  1. Describe IMG.

Ans: IMG or implementation guide is a stepwise detail of the configuration that is used in detailing and describing the module of SAP. It provides a functional module to each system of the business processes. It provides an explanation of functionality and is treated as a front end business process. The IMG is treated very important and the developers and consultants spend a maximum amount of time in designing and implementing the functions(Okungbowa, 2015). The Implementation Guide (IMG) is an important tool that helps in adjusting the SAP according to the organizational requirement. One can always use the implementation guide to organize and structure the accounting process in the system and the organization(Barkhi and Kozlowski, 2017).

  1. List three different types of IMG?

Ans: The different types of IMG are:

  • The SAP reference IMG- It works as a guide for implementation for using the IMG(Okungbowa, 2015).
  • The Enterprise IMG- This type is used for processing enterprise projects on IMG.
  • The Project IMG- This type is used to only process projects that are required to help in the initiation of the tasks. It also helps in generating release updates of the project. It also helps in providing clear configuration while the process is going on(Schenk and Draijer, 2019).
  1. What is the meaning of “Transportation Zones” in IMG?

Ans: Transportation Zone in IMG is the location of the business object. This zone is used to transport data and information to all the available zones in the business network. The system helps in transferring the huge data that is assigned to be transferred(Sampat, 2016) . The most beneficial part is the transfer helps in the reduction of the volume of the main data stored in the system. It partly transfers the data matter to all the assigned locations. This function is helpful in providing zones to all the group locations of the business object(Iovan and Robu, 2016).

  1. Provide a definition of a Logical System?

Ans: A Logical system is a set of systems in the network through which data is identified. It helps in identifying the number of systems connected to the network. It identifies them if the system has the same name network(Gaur, 2020). It can also be defined as a source where all the applications work on a similar data basis. It helps in recognizing the target system in the process. It is also about identifying clients in the system(Fonseca, 2016).

  1. Is IMG hierarchically structured and is based on the application component hierarchy? (True/False)

Ans: True.

  1. List three benefits of using IMG?

Ans: The benefits of IMG in computerized accounting are:

It helps in configuring the SAP functions in the company in a very cost-effective and safe manner. It is done in such a way that the standard of the requirements of the organization is met. This function also helps in managing and analyzing implementation and upgrades in projects. The system is also helpful in sending data automatically to the production system from the assurance system so that the consistency in movement and data quality is sustained(Sampat, 2016). Configure SAP functions in your company in a quick, safe, and cost-effective manner. This implementation also helps in managing the resource planning system in the company’s module(Suryaman et al.,2018).

  1. What are the different ways of displaying IMG?

Ans: There are different ways of displaying IMG. They are as follows:

  • Displaying documents where the documents are displayed on the basis of user-friendly specific settings. It is done for displaying the documentation related to the organization.
  • Documents can be displayed in the form of display IMG activity. The activity contains other options like documentation, attributes, process assignments. These are basically done to publish and display the business blueprint(Barkhi and Kozlowski, 2017).
  • The display can be done on positioning the cursor. It is generally used to display additional information(Cacciottoli, 2016).
  1. What is the difference between the Sap Easy access menu and the IMG menu?

Ans: The IMG menu is used by the company as a tool to guide the users to adjust the SAP system according to the required instances by the organization. The IMG menu has three different variants by which the SAP can be managed by the company. The data in the SAP can be displayed by using the IMG menu(Okungbowa, 2015b).

The sap easy access menu is the first menu that appears on the screen of the SAP system. This menu is user friendly and user-specific. The menu in the sap easy access contains only those specific items that are required to initiate the tasks on a daily basis. The tasks can be reports of transactions by the company, other financial reports, web addresses, and many more(Kalaimani, 2016).

  1. How to create the ‘Personnel area’ in IMG?

Ans: A personnel area in IMG is a personal unit provided for the administration of the specific subunit in a code of the company. The personnel areas are provided with company code individually and they contain four-digit identifiers that are alphanumeric(Drum et al.,2017). The personal areas must be clear within a client. These personnel areas are helpful in creating general default values for entering the data. The steps of creating a personnel area in IMG are by selecting on personnel areas on enterprise structure. This step will be followed by clicking on the new entries in the personnel area. The new information regarding personnel areas has to be filled. The final step will be filling the information and saving it. This is how the personnel area is created(Lipold and Ritter, 2015).

  1. How to assign personnel area to company code in IMG?

Ans: For assigning personnel area to company code in IMG, the steps followed are:

  • Firstly, the assignment of personnel area of company code had to be selected and clicked.
  • Clicking on the position button of the provided personal area
  • Filling up space with the company’s code in the blank company code field.
  • Finally clicking on the save button to save the have the personnel area filled for the company through IMG(Drum et al., 2017)(Gaur, 2020).
