According to me, cultural identity can be simply defined as one of the feelings regarding the belongingness into a particular group. In short, it can be stated as an individual’s self-conceptions as well as the perceptions which get ultimately related to nationality, religion, ethnicity, locality as well as generation. Essentially, culture can be defined as a process through which the individual’s way of life can get defined well that is their values, customs as well as social behaviors (Dewi, 2020). Most of the Indigenous people reside in Australia like Torres Traits Islanders and Aboriginals are having a particular view towards the world. In that particular class, land, the law, as well as family, are interconnected with each other through the aspect of the kinship system. Islanders are defined as sea-faring individuals who trade with people coming from New Guinea. Their particular culture is a composition of certain elements from Australia, the Austronesian region as well as Papua.
From my viewpoint, in the context of the cultural identity, the culture existing among the Torres Strait Islanders is very limited since the particular community can only be able to share certain pieces of information which might give us a basic understanding regarding their structure. However, they not publicly shared their grievances as well as problems regarding their families to the public or among the outsiders. As per the Torres Strait Regional Authority, the Torres Straits Islanders manage their self-affairs as per the custom of their islands. The cultural lens in the future can get readily influenced if the communication system within the society along with the interactions and the active socialization process can be motivated and uplifted (Kipnis, 2019).
The cultural lens highlights that the culture of success needs to deliver within the environment so that effectiveness, productivity as well as the team relationships can get well enhanced. The culture assessment as well as the cultural oriented care assist the nurse to think regarding the wellness and the problems of the patients. She can gradually able to understand them and accept the human diversification within society. As per the Nursing and Midwifery Registration Board, the cultural lens can be influenced when the registered nurse will be responsible enough in showing palliative and caring attitude for the patents (Dewi, 2020).
Thus will automatically enhance the mental wellness among the patient and gradually, the relation with the society and also with the families will get strengthened and boosted enough. Hence as a Nurse, continuous thinking and analysis are required so that good relationship can be maintained with clients and also with the hospital management authority based on which the self-respect, as well as the motivation among the nurse, will also get enhanced influencing the cultural identity (Kipnis, 2019). Hence as a whole, culture can be strengthened only if the individuals can be able to receive respectful appreciation from the society to make their relation stronger with other people in the society along with the maintenance of the rich legacy (Dewi, 2020).
