Causes of Differences in Gender and Age Related Responses to Alcohol

1. Blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is the quantity of alcohol in a body of a person as calculated by the weight of alcohol in the blood. The BAC limit subjects the utmost amount to be consumed before driving on public highways or a road which then becomes illegal. In general, there are huge differences in alcohol lenience between individuals and, for that reason, the main effects can vary. The effects in context to intoxication of alcohol are strongly influenced by individual changes in users. Many people are subjected to be drunk on lower levels. Disability can occur in context to any level that is above 0.00. In addition, level of harm rises radically as the blood alcohol level rises (Shazamlaw.com, 2016).

In this particular case it can be stated that a person's blood alcohol level depends on gender, weight, and metabolism, how long a person drinks alcohol and the quantity of food in the stomach before drinking. Even though the level of alcohol in an individual’s blood can be estimated, the level cannot be subjected by the amount of consumed drinks and cannot be accurately considered by the weight and height of a person, in this case Daniel Hastert.

In accidents involving single vehicles, the relative risk of a driver with a BAC is at least 11 times higher than that of a driver with BAC between 0.08 and 0.10 for men and is 52 times higher for young males. Several other studies have subjected that even a little amount of alcohol can damage an individual’s capacity to drive (Gotocourt.com.au, 2018).

Level is above 0.08%

Disclaimer: it is only a rough estimation in context to the averages of population and does not consider existing disease states, drug interactions, or age.

The clain made by Daniel Hastert is true as it can be argued that the truth of this test is that it only analyzes the amount of alcohol in the bloodstream at that time and is not always accurate. For example, if a mouthwash is used or burp during a recent test, the results are most likely to be manipulated and may not come true. Alcohol levels, however, are determined by the actual method of collecting the most sensitive variable blood in the blood test. First and foremost, the sample may be tempered with alcohol swabs before the needle is inserted in the surface of the skin. As the needle gets inserted, alcohol in context to the skin surface can actually contaminate the sample increasing the amount of alcohol in the blood. Since Daniel Hastert did not hit someone or something it is practical that he would be let go with a warning and a fine (Dui.findlawcom, 2020).

2. In physical terms, women and men are dissimilar. Females are usually smaller in volume than males, with less bodyweight than them. Although small, their body fat is higher than men's. Alcohol in the body is stored in body fat, so females can keep hold of extra alcohol than males, while alcohol has a long-lasting effect when consumed. Also, alcohol is present in the body as water (mainly in our blood). Because of their volume, women usually contain less water and therefore have an elevated concentration in terms of alcohol in their blood when taking the same amount with men. Another key gender difference is that males benefit from alcohol by increasing the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase that helps to break down alcohol prior to it reaching the stream of blood and makes their alcohol consumption more tolerable (Health.gov.au, 2019).

Many external influences are present as a cause of alcohol consumption and its effects on the sexes. Much of the proof comes from wine marketing to males rather than females. Both, the industries of beer and wine subject males as their target audience. Men who drink alcohol after others are more likely to be associated with peer pressure than those who are encouraged to engage in alcohol from a model or social policy. Men tend to express feelings of empowerment with alcohol consumption and they can drink as much as they can be encouraged in social situations. The rate of alcohol consumption between men is significantly elevated than that of the females and young men are very much likely to be involved in excessive alcohol consumption and therefore suffer legal and health consequences (Labots et al., 2018).

Age is an important determinant of health risks from alcohol. People who are injured in alcohol-related accidents or injuries are relatively more likely to be young, and the damage caused by alcohol-related illness is more pronounced in the elderly. New South Wales (25%) was the least likely to report using illicit drugs. People in their 50s and 60s may drink more frequently than others in this age group because alcohol may be part of their daily routine or they may continue drinking in previous years. About 1 in 5 adults of this age drinks at risk, with an average of two standard drinks a day. Data also increased significantly for those in their 50s and 60s who drank 11 or more standard drinks at least one drinking event (11.9% and 6.1%, respectively) over the last 50 years (McHugh et al., 2018).
