Causes of Differences in Gender and Age Related Responses to Alcohol

1. Blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is the quantity of alcohol in a body of a person as calculated by the weight of alcohol in the blood. About 1 in 5 adults of this age drinks at risk, with an average of two standard drinks a day. Data also increased significantly for those in their 50s and 60s who drank 11 or more standard drinks at least one drinking event (11.9% and 6.1%, respectively) over the last 50 years (McHugh et al., 2018).
