Introduction to New Technologies only Improve Productivity and Efficiency

Organizations across different industries find new ways to improve the experience of employees and lead to greater productivity and efficiency. Technology is involved everywhere in providing access to information and dealing with the information that is needed. The organizations have involved in prioritizing team collaboration than personal productivity to overall enhance the best usage of essential information. The technology has enabled collaboration and openness with a real concern to consider the technological shift and make the best usage of time.

Productivity is the term that is used to describe and support the collaboration of employees and keeping them updated with the team members. The organizations are continuously wandering to solve the biggest challenge of using too much technology and training the staff. In the other sense, I support the view that “New technologies only improve productivity and efficiency” along with saving time in the completion of tasks and being updated. We have to keep ourselves open and ready to use different applications to avoid overburdening in the organization with a collaborative concern.

According to McMullan, he is known as the father of electronic age considered the study on media theory. His major publications like "The Medium of Message: An Inventory of Effects" provided the framework with theoretical findings and said that society is affected by the use of technology. He said that these electronic changes led to the discovery of new media and fragmented people from each other. He discovered print media and sud that it was the universal form of communication and interaction between the people. He believed in enhancing the importance of media with different influential texts (Hall, McMullen & Hall, 2015). The technology has helped in transmitting the information and responses with the use of different senses and different levels of engagement. McMullan analyzed the effects on society with the help of theories he proposed in his book and determined the use of technology. The innovative ideas that he proposed concerning technology and media were "hot vs. cool media". Hence, the message is delivered and influences the large number of people about different contexts. However, he studied media theory and was also known as "the high priest of pop culture". Based on the readings, technology not only enhances efficiency and productivity but also collaborates with many people for the presentation of their ideas and analysis (McMullen, Hannula‐Sormunen, Kainulainen, Kiili & Lehtinen, 2019).

Sherry Turkle said that computers have a worldwide impact on identity. In his case study, "Sherry Turkle and the Psychological use of Computers" many authors like, Johnson, Norman, Buckingham, and Nelson also presented the views on examining the psychological impact on lives. She was the one that investigated the ideas on different perspectives that the person employs during work. Hence, technology has an impact on ethnographic, sociological, and psychoanalytical matters based on examining the impact on digitalization over culture. She was a scholar of computers during her studies. Hence, the productivity and efficiency of the work are increased with the use of computers as well as impacts the lives of individuals in different matters as presented by different authors in her case study (Turkle, 2017).

Similar to McMullan and Sherry Turkle, Broadbent also presented the views on the technological impacts in society. He outlined the idea that technology has not only impacted productivity and efficiency but also the relations and networks that have been affected in society. In his whole research, he presented his ideas with a different perspective and stated that societal, ecological relations at the national and international levels are impacted by the use of technology (Shooter et al., 2015). Hence, the industries have led to mass production and consumption with the use of technology, but, greenhouse gases emitted from computers are never known (Craswell, Moxham & Broadbent, 2016).

Organizations have become digitalized with the help of following digital workplace practices with intelligent capabilities by combining all technical specifications into a single platform. This has reduced the distraction from unnecessary notifications and personalized the individual with relevant tasks and information. Security is the major concern in all matters when the person is giving their inputs in the organization. The technology has provided that secure environment to built top systems and maintain a record with high confidentiality and security. Hence, technology has not only improved the efficiency and productivity of firms but also advantaged the employees with greater experience in different fields.

Conclusion on New Technologies only Improve Productivity and Efficiency

In the end, it could be concluded with the best understanding from the article that technology has not only improved efficiency and productivity but has also given us many advantages. The use of technology should be done but, the harms should never be underestimated. The networks and relations within society have been built by sharing distinct ideas from a relational perspective.
