The research conducted by Bloom et al.  shows that long term vacations have strong relations with health and well being of people during and lesser degree after the vacation. The study highlights that vacation experiences like relaxation and pleasure are essential for persistence and strength of vacation (after) effects. According to a survey conducted by American Psychological Association , the stress level is seen reduced in the U.S. workers after vacation. The study conducted by Bloom et al.  tries to find out the relationship between the vacation, health and well- being of an employee. The result shows that vacation has a positive effect on the well-being of the workers but this effect fades out after the resumption of the work.
In the article by Achor and Gielan, it is highlighted that the employees who have taken time off from their work were more productive. These workers were more likely to get promotion than the workers who do not take time- off from their jobs.
In the study conducted by Bloom et al sixty percent of the workers experienced a great improvement in the health and well- being during and after the vacations. The paper also shows that the positive and long-lasting effects of vacation was seen in many employees but not invariable positive for all the workers.
