The main of the research study will be to analyse the challenges that higher education has to deal with concerning innovation and to evaluate methods to overcome.

The objectives of the research study will be as follows:
Sources of data
Various works of literature will be reviewed that are related to the research topic and concerning higher education such as journal, news articles, books, research papers, and magazines. The information on such literature will be used to critically evaluate the accuracy and relevancy of the topic effectively. Besides, an interview of educational experts such as professors of universities and colleges will be conducted to collect primary data about the related topic and dig deeper to collect valuable information. There will be 10 respondents and the questions will be based on close-ended (Snyder, 2019).
Methods
The research methodology for this particular research study will be a mixed approach concerning both qualitative and quantitative research approach to perform the study. Concerning the qualitative method, several pieces of literature will be assessed and reviewed to scrutinize valuable facts to conclude the study effectively (Snyder, 2019). Regarding, quantitative method, interviews with educational experts by using a microphone and voice recorder (Snyder, 2019). Using these methods will help assess the collected data proficiently to provide a substantial conclusion to the findings of the study (Snyder, 2019).

With emerging changes in the market and needs, the educational system is modifying and requiring alterations to meet the changing needs and requirements effectively. Researchers have highlighted the challenges of the education system, especially in the higher education segment. According to a study by Baliga, (2020), stated that innovation has been an emerging need within all business organization as well as in educational institutions (Baliga, 2020). With effective and efficient technological developments and inventions in the new year of innovations, education has been become an easy learning activity with higher interest and enthusiasm as compared to previous generations (Baliga, 2020). Baliga, (2020), has provided a significant and in-depth discussion on the challenges that higher education confronts especially in concern to business management and enlightenedsome solutions to tackle such challenges efficiently (Baliga, 2020). The challenges identified as the lack of skills, knowledge, and adaptability towards change and innovation by educational institutions and tutors as such (Baliga, 2020). The author has used the concept of organizational behaviour and organizational design to analyse the challenges of higher education and innovation.
On the other hand, in a research study by Bui, Nguyen and Cole, (2019), has indicated that higher education curriculum needs to be altered or amended in order to ensure that the graduate can obtain jobs or employments after their studies (Bui, Nguyen and Cole, 2019). However, it has been noticed that with the lack of flexibility, interest, and acceptability towards innovation and change, educational institutions, especially in the higher education segment, faces challenges of ensuring educational effectiveness (Bui, Nguyen and Cole, 2019). Besides that authors have also pointed the fact that with growing cost on institutions to make children study on universities and colleges, parents expect a value education in terms of strengthening students to obtain employments right after graduation from higher education or institution (Bui, Nguyen and Cole, 2019). In addition to that, Babić and Nedelko, (2020), have also stated that there has been a rise in integrating educational curriculum of higher education concerning skills sets enhancements to empower employability to students (Babić and Nedelko, 2020).
Babić and Nedelko, (2020), have stated that problem-based learning is an effectual way to gain significant knowledge and understanding regarding any idea, concept or theory effectively and efficiently (Babić and Nedelko, 2020).Based on the findings of the study, it has been acknowledged that the author has presented action research by employing the mixed approach of both quantitative and qualitative research method in order to improve student's engagement in the real world module or educational curriculum to understand the concepts of computing, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering at the University of Northampton effectively (Babić and Nedelko, 2020).This indicates that the challenges of higher education are evident in various researches which were performed by several research scholars and researches that are related to the topic. Implementing innovation and technology is essential for educational institutions to ensure value added learning and effectual problem-based learning to improve student engagement efficiently (Agyeman, Cui and Bennett, 2020).
