Change Management - Evaluation of KM Solution

Introduction

Literature Review: Introduction - Well-defined tools are used to critically evaluate the models for the management of knowledge in the organization. The literature review further evaluates knowledge management solutions from ethical, technical, social, and legal perspectives. The relevant literature and articles are used to identify knowledge management theories in organizational culture and learning. KM principles are systematically applied to the organization. In-depth examination and interpretation of the research, finding are done to get the most relevant and effective result.

Critical evaluation of KM models and principles in the organization according to Theis, Oord, and Bethge (2015) the knowledge management models are very useful for the organization dealing with technology and communication. Nonaka and Takeuchi's model of KM consists of tacit and explicit knowledge. The company explores both the knowledge for effective decision making. The company adopted the socialization method of knowledge conversion for an understanding of the newly launched technology, Externalization is used for presentation to position the products, combination, and internalization methods are used for effective management of the knowledge. On the other hand, explicit knowledge supports the tacit knowledge to preserve and present the ideas through presentations, and other documents.

In contrast to them, Lokshina and Lanting (2018) have said that the company is adopted the Boisot KM model to provide the data and information in a structured manner. He further added that the company needs to manage the data in a systematic manner to get useful information from it. However, the company must follow the principles that the knowledge should be social, shared, accessible, quality controlled, and decentralized.
In addition to it, Jansen (2017) has defined that most of the knowledge regarding the issues are gathered from the social paradigms as well as scientific paradigm following the McAdams amp McCreedy KM model. Moreover, he also includes the Stankosky amp baldanza KM pillars model for a better understanding of the four pillars consist of leadership, organization, technology, and learning.

After analyzing the above cases, we can found that an organization needs to apply a systematic knowledge management model as it would affect the communication and leadership of the organization.
Evaluation of KM solution from ethical, technical, social, and legal perspectives study of Botha, Kourie, and Snyman (2014) examines that change management is the best solution for knowledge management in the organization. This perspective suggests that technology, culture, and structure along with the knowledge and acquisition brings an effective KM.

On the other hand, studies carried out by Becerra-Fernandez and Sabherwal (2014) signifies that many of the companies have not achieved success without following the KM solution ethically, socially, technically, and legally. These factors play a vital role in contributing to the management of information in the company.

Therefore, we can found that organization results basically depend on the management activities which satisfy the ethical norms, social issues, technical and legal knowledge.

Self-ReflectionI was amazed to observe that managing the knowledge in a multinational company is very crucial to surviving. The managers are expert to manipulate the information and knowledge to take advantage of the situation (North and Kumta 2018).

On the other hand, these practices make the situation in control which further helps to take decision for the solution. The organization was following Nonaka and Takeuchi model for the management of the knowledge. It was very difficult for me to understand the application of the model in the real world. I think that the manager should teach the application of the models and its benefits to the company in a more clear and descriptive manner. It was very tough as well as the learning experience of mine in the organization.

Conclusion

After analyzing the studies of all the authors and researchers, we can conclude that an organization should follow an appropriate model for the management of the knowledge. Moreover, the principles support the management of the company effectively and efficiently. I got excellent learning from the technology company who makes knowledge management the top priority. Furthermore, it was also identified that the company must take care of the ethical, social, technical, and legal aspects which influence the success of the company.
