Ethical Leadership and Employee Task Performance

The purpose of this reflective essay discussion is to provide an overview of a mediation report undertaken in a small hotel firm of an Information Technology (IT) company in Melbourne, Australia. The critical discussion focused on further elaboration entails the mediation process to ensure the two conflicting parties reach an ambient agreement (Yang, 2017). Though they have diverse objectives, it is vital in depicting a vivid resolution for a successive business operation.

As a mediator, my role was to develop solutions to the diversities that the two parties were experiencing and give suggestions that will be employed by both parties in their business field. I had to undertake a 'pre-study 'for the two organizations to ensure I know how every company often undertakes its operation; afterward, listen and make decisions regarding the background knowledge I have regarding the two companies. The hotel was operating as an eatery that ran on a 24-hour basis and employed an averagely few employees under one manager who is purposed to heighten his firm. These background studies of the hotel and the IT Company were vital for me since I could familiarize myself with the two entities in my report and prepare to face some challenges that are to arise in my mediation exercise ahead. This pre-approach that I made before the primary mediation process enabled me to prepare for the anticipated effects that were to be encountered (Liu, 2018).

The two parties had diversities in several issues. Firstly, the hotel wanted the IT Company to redesign their hotel website by appending new features to its operating internet site and the real-time checking process at a lower cost than what the company was articulating. This issue made the two entities have differences. Secondly, the IT Company was planning to upgrade the hotel's payroll system at a cost that the manager felt was high concerning their hotel. Thirdly, the matter being disapproved by the two companies was on; the room checking system, which still cost installation, was a divergence source. To solve the divergence source between the two parties (Scioli, 2020), I had to come up with solutions favoring the two parties but were not articulated by any of the parties. Through this, I was able to initiate moderate and efficient prices that will enable the IT Company's services and deliver funds by the hotel. After this approach, the two companies agreed on their differences since no one could have felt depleted.

Conclusively, the mediation process was successful since I employed the ambient approaches, which were not favoring anyone but aiding them regardless of their diversities. The solutions that I provided during the mediation process seemed like the best for the moment, but one of the sides felt like I favored the opponent since most of the solutions they were pushing for, I attended to all of them. I have depicted that the mediation process can be a difficult problem to solve. Still, if well attended to by 'right-thinking' individuals, it seems a very lenient process to execute.
