FOP Strategies Against NCDs

It is always stated that prevention is better than cure. Some primordial strategies are defined to avoid NCDs. It is recommended promoting Front-of-pack nutrition (FOP) labels to avoid non communicable diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, canner and etc (World Health Organization, 2017). this strategy will allow the customers to take a glance at all the ingredients in order to make healthier and informed decisions while purchasing and avoid non communicable diseases.

Many food industries are resistant to promote progressive FOP nutrition labels, they believe that it will hamper their competition in the market by revealing some of their special and secret ingredients. This will lead to gigantic losses for their organization. Moreover, providing cautious symbols and signs, for example “Dangerous to Health” on front packaging might not attract the customers. Though these are the strategies for betterment of people, yet proper law and order has not been implemented to ensure public health and safety.

There would be a backlash from people with lower incomes and from rural areas as they are not much aware of the diseases and their treatments. Lastly, the FOP nutrition label strategy must be encouraged, it would help save a lot lives and even the money which is wasted in expensive treatments of numerous diseases in final stage.
