It is true to say that companies in the modern times must react to the augmenting rate of change along with considering the environmental concerns. This is because since the community progressively becomes aware of ecological and global warming issues, organizations are more and more asked of the ecological responsiveness of their supply chain and production processes. Additionally, such regulations and social dynamics are putting actual forces on organizations in nearly every sector to adopt lean and green practices in their distribution, product sourcing, logistics and functioning activities (Azevedo, Carvalho and Machado 2011). Today, most of the companies are promising to work with the suppliers that obey ecological and communal standards. Competition can be regarded as one of the factors that force businesses to adopt green practices in supply chain management. It is because rivalries are also going green (Vanalle et al. 2017). The main areas of supply chain management that are going to be utilized in this particular study are marketing, sourcing, logistics, distribution, and so on. The green procurement practices are to deploy the collaboration-linked practices like joint research, training, and ecological information to certify that suppliers fulfil their environmental goals (Laosirihongthong, Adebanjo and Tan 2013) Furthermore, the green practices that are presented in this study are concerned with eliminating waste entailing emissions, harmful chemicals, and more; sustainable procurement of resources; selection of right suppliers; committing to local sustainability; bring more innovations and novel ideas; and more. Design changes will also be included as the green supply chain practices as they assist to decrease waste processing and recycling cost (Chowdhury, Upadhyay, Austin and Belal 2016). Furthermore, it is noteworthy that the aim of green supply chain practices must not just to improve the environment but also influence on the clients and other investors along with enhancing the business’s insights in the highly competitive market (Zimon, Tyan and Sroufe 2020). Besides, six-sigma is the best methodology that is to be used in this study and is a useful technique to minimize waste and effective in each of production and manufacturing processes (Cherrafi et al. 2018).
Though the current study is to be designed in a well-scheduled manner, its limitations or issues cannot be disregarded. The anticipated issues can be in the form of the time-taken process due to the fact scholar will find difficulty in choosing the respondents to be taken for the data collection via qualitative study. Receiving the consent of the members may be another challenging task because most of the members might be afraid that their confidentiality and secrecy would not be deliberated. Furthermore, it will be difficult for a scholar to reach the target audience for this particular study because people may deny engaging in the instant interview or surveying activity. It can also be possible that scholar may find difficulty in getting access to all secondary sources as some of the journal articles may require permission and may be chargeable. Moreover, the scholar may find it difficult to rely on the answers provided by respondents as they might give false information to him. There might also be a serious issue of getting the data on an instant basis due to the ongoing pandemic COVID-19 as corporate people might not be present all together on the same day. The research might be restricted or confined to the organizations belonging to just one particular area hence there might be short sample size in the study that may limit the scholar to get a clear answer to the research question.
Some of the above issue or anticipated problems can be overcome by adopting the ethical practices throughout the research by the scholar. It is true to say the ethics play a vital role in evading any failure in the research activities. These are supposed to be an important methodology to evade the generation of data to confirm the essential objective of study that entails comprehending, and reliable information.
