Introduction to Evidence for Practice

There Are Multiple Reasons for The College Student to Face Stress and Sometimes that Lead to A Psychological Issue that Can Lead to Serious Complication Causing Loss of The Studies. Many Factors Lead to The Development of Psychological Distress and There Is a Need to Decrease the Stress by Using Accurate Intervention (saleh Et Al., 2017). One of The Methods that Can Be Used to Decrease the Stress of The Student Includes Mindful-Stress Reduction Intervention and This Paper Is Going to Critically Appraise One of The Articles Related to The Intervention. the Critical Appraisal of The Article Evaluates the Paper on The Bases of The Set Question to Understand the Different Aspect of The Article (umesh Et Al., 2016). the Article that Will Be Critically Appraised Has Discussed the Experience of The Physiotherapy Student Regarding the Six-Week Mindful-Stress Reduction Intervention (mc Conville Et Al., 2019).

Part a – Critical Appraisal

Authorship

The Author Plays a Major Role to Analyze the Quality of The Research as They Are the Major Contributor to The Research and The Background Can Help to Understand the Quality of The Research. During Critical Appraisal, Authorship Should Be Considered to Increasing Understanding Toward Research (al-Jundi & Sakka, 2017). the Article Presented for The Critical Appraisal Included Four Different Researchers that Are Involved in The Study. All Four Authors Who Are Connected with The Study Are from A Reputed University and Have a Good Designation. After Analysing the Background of The Author It Can Be Concluded that Authorship Has Increased the Quality of The Study as They Add Their Skill in The Study. the Researchers Also Clearly Articulated that There Is No Conflict in The Study that Can Hamper the Quality of The Study. the Research Should Mention the Conflict of Interest in The Study to Maintain the Quality of The Study (romain, 2015).

Research Question & Justification

The Research Question Raised by The Authors Was to Understand the Effect of The Mindful-Stress Reduction Intervention in Student. the Study Lacks the Use of Pico(t) Framework for Formulating the Research Question that Is Considered to Be the Weakness of The Study. the Picot Format Helps to Understand the Research Question by Framing It Considering All the Five Factors (fandino, 2019). the Articles Have Utilized Recent Articles to Support the Study and Provide an Understanding of The Topic of The Study. the Use of Recent Research in The Study Helps to Understand the Latest Aspect that Is Related to The Topic and Help to Conduct the Study in A Particular Context to Increase Research in The Field (maggio Et Al., 2016). the Researchers Have Also Mentioned Some of The Limitations that Have Encountered that Have Increased the Need for The Study that Directly Help to Justify the Scope of The Study.

Research Design

The Study Has Utilized the Qualitative Analytic Method for The Study that Increases the Quality of The Research Data that Will Be Generated After the Study. the Qualitative Method for The Research Is Preferred when There Is a Need to Answer Some Question Like Experience, Meaning and Perspective. the Qualitative Research Method Has Increased Clinical Complication Due to Its Rigour and Quality It Provides to The Research (hammarberg Et Al., 2016). the Method that Is Utilized for The Study Included a Semi-Structured Interview to Understand the Experience of The Participant that Is the Aim of The Study. It Is Considered to Be One of The Good Qualitative Data Collection Methods as It Utilizes the Open-Ended Question for The Data Collection that Increases the Participation of The Individual in The Interaction (de Jonckheere & Vaughn, 2019). One of The Weakness Observed in The Lack of Reference to Support the Research Method that Decreases Relevancy. Ethical Consideration Was Also Mentioned by The Researcher that Increase the Authenticity of The Article.

Research Methods

The Study Has Included 17 Students in The Study and Divided Them Into Two Groups Randomly for The Six-Hour Sessions. the Study Lacks the Relevant Information About the Participant Like Their Background Information, Age and Degree. the Semi-Structured Interview Sample Size Should Be Calculated Concerning the Richness of The Study but Approximately 25-30 Participants Are Required to Conduct the Semi-Structured Interview. the Study Also Lacks the Number of Participants that Can Require Obtaining High-Quality Research from The Interview (moser & Korstjens, 2017). the Interviews Were Performed Followed by Transcribing the Answer of The Participation that Directly Helps to Reduce the Biases of The Results. the Interview Transcription Verbatim by Expert Reduces the Chances of Alteration in The Result that Can Hamper the Quality of The Study (werner Et Al., 2018).

Results and Limitations

The Thematic Analysis Was Utilized to Gather the Data to Predict the Result in The Study and The Study Have Utilized One Main Theme with Five Sub-Themes to Increase Understanding Toward the Research Question. Thematic Analysis Help to Analyze the Participant Perspective According to Different Criteria that Directly Improve the Data Analysis Proves (walsh Et Al., 2019). the Study Did Not Clearly Articulate the Participant Number Regarding the Different Theme but They Just Have Summed up All the Opinion of The Participant in Together to Justify the Research Question. the Study Concluded that Mindful-Stress Reduction Intervention Can Be Utilized to Improve the Mental Health of The Individual. One of The Weakness Observed in The Study Is the Lack of Limitation of The Study as The Author Does Not Discuss the Limitation of The Study.

Part B – Enablers and Barriers

The Implementation of The Has a Greater Perspective as The Level of Stress Is Increasing Day by Day and Individual Requires a Different Strategy to Improve Mental Wellbeing (bhui Et Al., 2016). the Enablers that Have Increased the Chances of Implementation of The Study Include Increase Effective to Reduce Stress and Easy Implementation. One of The Articles Presented by Rush and Sharma (2017) Describe that Mindful-Stress Reduction Intervention Not only Useful in The Clinical Practice but It Also Successful in The Non-Clinical Setting to Reduce the Rate of Stress and Depression in The Individual. the Article Also Discussed that It Can Be Provided to Any Section of The Society as Its Broader Spectrum and It Can Reduce Complication of Individual of Any Age Group. Different Barriers Are Associated with The Study Including Lack of Staff, Decrease Skills and Reluctant Behaviour of The Participant for The Intervention Decrease Chance to Perform the Stress Reduction Intervention. the Article Presented by Banerjee Et Al. (2017) Discussed that Many Barriers Directly Led to Decrease Implementation of The Intervention Include Different Levels. the First Level Includes the Lack of Resources from The Organization and Second Intervention Includes Decrease Skills of The Staff. the Last Barrier Includes Decrease Belief of The Participant that Resist the Intervention to Be Implemented Properly.

Conclusion on Evidence for Practice

The Critical Appraisal of The Article Directly Reveals About the Quality of The Research and Tries to Understand the Study. the Studies Were Analyzed and Several Strengths Were Observed Like Author Background, Use of The Recent Research, Semis Structured Interview and Thematic Analysis. Several Weaknesses of The Study Were Also Observed that Lack of Picot Format, Lack of Evidence for Methodology and Less Information of The Participant. the Overall Study Was of Good Quality and The Researcher Tries to Answer the Research Question by Utilizing the Different Themes. the Article Also Provided Information About Ethical Consideration but Lack Information About the Limitation of The Study.
