Introduction to Health Studies

The aim of the present report is to select, reflect on the findings of three posts and plan to the incorporation of the findings into the future findings. The first post that is selected is regarding the formation of research when someone in the family is not well to know the treatment modality. The findings are that the research should be credible and it has to be made sure that it is given by the healthcare professional that is good in their field and the information sought should be evidence-based (Sbaffi & Rowley, 2017). This post is selected because when on the side of receiving treatment one tend to research the disease and the treatment being offered and it is important that the information obtained should be credible. There is a vast amount of information that is available and not all of them are credible and the selection of information is extremely important to avoid misinformation.

The next post selected is the one which there is a discussion of the depression in geriatric due to urinary incontinence. This post is selected because depression in elderly due to improper functioning of the body is common and it is found that this is something which is commonly encountered in nursing practice. Understanding the same is important as the care plan is required to be made in such a way that these are addressed and person-centred care is formed (Sjögren et al., 2017). The third post that is selected is the one which is related to the criticisms for evidence-based practice. The findings show that one of the criticisms is that it is not related to person-centred care and the other is that there can be a large volume of data and sorting them is not an easy task (Landrum & Collins, 2018). This post was selected because evidence-based practice is the essence of the healthcare profession and it is required for the appropriate and safe care to the patient. According to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, evidence-based practice is to undertaken while providing any care to the patient (Cashin et al., 2017).

In future practice, it is important that the valuable findings from these three posts are incorporated. When providing information about treatment procedure to a patient it should not be advised to ask them to conduct a research of their own but the information including the success and any adverse outcome should be provided by the doctor. The vast amount of information should be considered and evidence-based practice should be followed while providing care to the patient (Cashin et al., 2017).
