Group cohesion can be defined as the ability to think and act proficiently within a group and in a certain situation. It critically determines effectiveness level of thinking about any strategic and effectual decision and act upon the situation actively and mutually to overcome from that particular condition. Now concerning the given scenario, it has been understood that my group has a good cohesion as the ratings of requirements are well matched with mine ratings, indicates high cohesion level. Whatever, I have asked or ordered my team mates to perform any required task, they had actively participated to act on that situation. For example, while transition to the mother space which was 20 kms away from the crash site, all my team mates have showed good and effectual cohesion to travel to the extraction point with all sort of hurdles and necessities. This indicates that as per psychological perspectives on cohesion it critically defines communal relations, job relations, unity, and emotion among an individual or members in a group.

Group roles determines the roles and responsibilities of members within a group in terms of his capabilities, skills, knowledge, and situation. Relating to the scenario, it has been understood that there are two roles been seen within the group and those are task roles and procedural role. For example, while transition to the mother ship, every team member was assigned with tasks to get into the ship, thus it indicates task role. Besides that, in case of procedural role, as every member has given specific procedures to travel to the moon ship by me, hence, it shows procedural roles of the team mates. To justify that fact, as per psychological concepts, members within a group develops a sense of belongingness and expectations on how people would behave with varied roles to play in a specific situation like the said scenario. Hence, applying such an approach will be helpful to reach the set goals and objectives of the mission effectively.

Social decision schemes can be defined as a theoretical approach towards decision making process within a group or society concerning a specific situation to overcome critical challenges or issues effectively. Concerning to the given scenario, I have seen that post spaceship crashes on the surface of moon, every members of the group had jointly participated to tackle the situation with engaging thoughts, ideas, and strategies to share with me and other team mates. Another example was, they have jointly agreed and understand the decisions and proceeded accordingly to the choice. Thus, it has been understood that social decision-making schemes works wonders in a critical situation for a group or society as it is a jointly participated policymaking process and is effective concerning group decision making factors and requirements.

Out of the three social psychological concepts and based on the given situation of extraction from the moon via mother ship, it has been noted that group roles were more evident in my team. Due to active participation and quick grasping of varied roles assigned to each member has indicated that psychological factors have played a crucial role in determining the groups effectiveness, behaviours, and attitudes towards the situation and overcoming challenges. Thus, applying the group roles psychological concept within the team mates or proceeding according to the concepts provides great help in such conditions effectively.

Concerning to my group, it has been identified that members had effectually influenced each other positively to actively engage to ensure all the members survive from the critical situation. According to the psychological concept of social influence indicates that it specifically defines the convincing effects individuals have on each other within a society or group. Thus, this psychological concept plays a vital role in influencing and strengthening morale of team mates positively, and which will likely result in effectual outcome concerning mutual benefits.

Yes, it is important to have a group leader; however, the leader must be proficient enough and have required skills to effectively manage and execute tasks successfully. As per the social leadership psychology, leadership influences are vital and leads to positive results of any tasks undertaken. Thus, applying the social leadership theory in such similar cases as mentioned in the given scenario, would be beneficial and would also help in succeeding the mission effectively.
