Introduction to Managing Human Resources

Human resource is an important factor for every business organizations as they are considered as the prime asset for the companies who work and ensure organizational effectiveness. The main purpose of this paper is to perform an annotated bibliography concerning five peers reviewed journals based on the topic of managing human resources in the context of global challenges. By reviewing the journals that re relevant to the topic helps to make identification of its importance, effectiveness, and improvement which are needed for organizations in the context of global organizations. Thus, the paper will provide an in-depth understanding of the various pieces of literature which were performed on the same topic of human resource management concerning their challenges and strategies to overcome.

Thus, this outlines the research objectives and research questions of the research study.

By looking at the journal article and the aspects of the research study, it has been known that the overall research was been conducted by following the qualitative research approach. Qualitative research approach includes collecting data from secondary sources such as journals, articles, books, magazines, and news. In the qualitative method, data collected is depended on the research findings of the past literature and based on their outcomes, literature is being reviewed to refer and conclude the proposed study effectively by taking references from the past research studies to connect and provide sufficient evidence and justification. In this particular research study by Schuler et al., (2011), several pieces of literature has been reviewed and referenced to provide adequate justification to the research and ensure accuracy and reliability. 

According to the research study by Schuler et al., (2011), it indicates that the authors have provided an in-depth study based on the challenges and strategies of global human resource management by considering many crucial factors that need prime importance (Schuler et al., 2011). It includes barriers to global talent management initiatives, the role of human resource professionals, Training and development, compensation, employee retention, HR policies and practices for global talent management, initiatives to address global talent challenges, and demand for workers with competencies and motivation. The findings suggest strategies to overcome the identified challenges of global human resource management and the firms must adopt such strategies to ensure a smooth flow of operation concerning human resource management.

According to McDonnell et al., (2010), the study reveals that global chain development is the most usually utilized approach with approximately 6 in 10 multinational enterprises indicating the Irish operations are covered (McDonnell et al., 2010). As per the research findings, it indicates that the multinational enterprises are less probable to have a formal succession planning system, yet they would like to have a local succession planning system within their talent management processes (McDonnell et al., 2010). By performing the annotated bibliography of five peer-reviewed journals, it has provided an important understanding of the various factors of human resource management in the context of global challenges of talent management. Reviewing the past literature which was conducted by previous researchers gives an effectual understanding of the concepts and theories more accurately and reliably. Hence, this annotated bibliography has provided a significant understanding of the concept of managing human resources and its challenges in the context of global challenges.
