B: Company is really good but due to the pandemic, they are unable to operate because there are no tourists.

A: That’s right but I always thought that you are working in an excellent firm.

B: Yes, no doubt Airbnb is a unique firm as they take proper care of their travellers as well as their employees but we are noticing a dramatic drop in numbers and even we are not receiving any income from the customers, that’s why these days are going tough.

A: It’s a fact that people are limiting to their travel, even states and government have put restrictions on rentals.

B: The guest is not feeling safe and is fearful to live in Airbnb just because of the pandemic. Airbnb platform is used to advertise properties within the market. The company is providing free cancellation for the customers (Dublin, 2020). The Company has 7 million accommodations in more than 220 companies but all are facing problems during the pandemic.

A: How they work with the properties?

B: The accommodations are managed by the local people only who work there and look out the properties. Airbnb work as a broker who gets a commission on each booking but has a wide business as they are having the properties as well as offices in 34 cities across the world.

A: What is the meaning of the name Airbnb?

B: That is just the short form of it, the original name is Airbnb is Air Bed and Breakfast.

A: Okay, as everyone is fighting with the COVID pandemic I hope everything will be fine soon as well, do your company also giving some support in this tough time to the people?

B: Yes, the entire world is working hard on it. In this march, the company has launched a campaign wherein they are providing clean and free places to 100,000 health and relief workers so that they can maintain the social distancing and can stay away from their family to keep them safe. As far as their environmental factors are concerned it energy uses of these locations are comparatively low as compared to hotels. Reduced water usage, green gases, and environmental acceptance made it unique.

A: This is a very nice step which they took that will build their confidence because somewhere they know that their family will not be affected by them, as they are living securely separately now.

B: There is a huge impact politically and legally as they have to take care of all countries laws, and as you know Airbnb was known for its cheaper cost what they were providing to the company as the local people who do not want the property rent it to Airbnb and can earn commissions on that, it works best in the cities which have less or expensive hotels. They also encourage the

tourists to provide their reviews on the websites so it would be easier for other tourists to choose the best accommodation as it helps them and even increases customer satisfaction.

A: Can we search directly for the properties?

B: They have website www.airbnb.com, mobile apps with easy bookings and cancellation options, we are also providing 24X7 support for customer satisfaction. It is quite helpful for the people to use these applications which are upgraded continuously. They have attractive properties which attract tourists for example greenery. If you will compare the hotel and properties you will come to notice that consumption of energy and water is quite less as compared to hotels so this is extra beneficial for the company. Economically, it also generated new avenues for tourists which give them more options to explore, and created new jobs for people has now stopped for some time due to this global pandemic.

A: Indeed, but I also understand the company’s condition as it is going through a bad phase because god knows when things will be right. The factors will affect not only yours but many companies in a lot of ways.

B: You are right! The brand value is decreasing due to the pandemic, the political contests are going on between the countries, government, and the hotel industries regarding the short-term rental regulations in the United States. It also impacted the home-sharing of the local economy because even they don’t know that they are suffering from the virus or not.

A: I think it also affects socially as people are not focusing on rental or tourists websites.

B: The website crowd is reducing day by day as no one is willing to travel and to rent the properties in this pandemic time and the ones who want to travel is not allowed as there is restriction because the virus can affect anyone so it’s better to stay inside the homes and to avoid travel and outdoor entertainment for some time. It is defined as a social business as the society play both of the roles of the buyer as well as the seller. This social factor has a deep impact on Airbnb.

A: There are many legal restrictions formed between the pandemic within the world related to rentals, tourism, aviation, and so on. The company needs to maintain strong relations with the partners and policymakers in this period which can save the companies and their employees.

B: There are other competitors as well like HomeAway, VRBO, Flipkey, TripAdvisor, Booking.com everyone is dealing with some sort of problems just because of the tough time by which the whole world is affecting (SWOT & PESTLE.com, 2020).
