In the given assignment, the first question is all about the Frank McDougal who offers his four rotary friends with high accounting skills to handle the company’s books as his company was ready to offer a high salary package with fringe benefits. But he was turned down by all of them and he was very surprised to know this. As per the intercultural theory, Frank made mistaken to consider the following attributes while offering job to his friends in his office:

The one who rejected his offer might be having some doubts about the job security in the latter company or might be having a good and trustworthy job security from the former one (Gowindasamy, 2017).

It also the possibility that might be the friends of Frank not getting personal satisfaction or might be one is getting high rate of satisfaction from the former one. Frank made a blunder mistake while understanding the cross cultural problem. He must first study that how individuals from the different cultural and organisations have a conversation among themselves and endeavour in its different way across different cultures. To resolve the aforesaid problem; frank first need to understand the better cross-cultural problem. The better cross-cultural problem is resolved when an interdisciplinary approach is reached out and co cultural population strategies are used to deal with majority of the population as well as. As per the cultural norms; one must very or extremely due diligently that consider the formulation of sign languages to compare cross-cultural norms of communication (Jingzi et al. 2016). There might be various materialistic problems that come with language translation, as well as media and social medias, however sometimes individuals could over-emphasize or under emphasizes the cultures with the old schools and their subjective characterizations. The process of the communicative competence is defined as emotions, and thinking and the high rates of the sentiments that is expressed by the things programmatically behaving in the various of the ways defined as appropriate by the inferior system of the culture. Communication competence is a result that is basically the measurement concept which act as functional or the operational conformity to reason by the environment that belief such as working conditions of the organisation. Beyond this, adaptation means "the reason to confirm" to the concepts based on the "reality of the objectives and features" and "modes of experience that are accepted".

As a researcher in the inter cultural communication theory; Mr frank is advised to create a bridge of the communication, with his friends and more people from the local community should be invited to join his company and who is quite interested to invest their efforts and knowledge in the company (Matveev, 2017). Therefore, there will be no mistake be made by the Mr Frank. Following are traits that Mr Frank must have as he possess such post in the organisation are-

  • Not rigid.
  • Uncertainty toleration.
  • Reflection of self.
  • Not having narrow mind.
  • Able to sense the issue.
  • Able to adapt the changes.
  • Must have especial and different thinking that is different from the others.

In the case two of the assignment, Anna is a German sales manager who was facing a problem in getting true and fair feedback from her Chinese customers, as she said that they are too nice to give negative comments and because of this they can't make any changes and give proper product to her customer. She does not get pros and cons from her customer on the table to prepare the best for her customer.

Anna was getting wrong in the case because her method of getting direct feedback from her customer was wrong. She was using the way of direct communication from her customer which was not fair, hence she was not getting true feedback. Anna must understand the better cross-cultural communication through better and significant process of having a better and indirect communication with your criticiser’s view as well (Polyakova, 2016). Thus, feed forward as well as feed backward which is feedback from both the sides to get the proper pros and cons on the table to get the best out of it is the best way to solve the problem of cross-cultural communication.

Intercultural theories like co cultural theory is one of the basic theories to get proper feedback that Anna could have used in the aforesaid case. Co cultural communication used the people from the group of the under presented group members and the dominant group members who actually could have the helped Anna in getting the response she actually wanted to hear from the customers, because the people from these groups have actually proven to be a framework which provides a better explanation to things that are going on and how it should have gone in the any of the organisation.

Other theory like Communication accommodation theory can be adopted which focuses on linguistic strategies that is the action or the behaviour to communicate to fall or raise the amount of the communicative distances. Communication accommodation theory explain and predict why, when, and how people adjust their communicative behaviour during social interaction, and what social consequences result from these which ultimately help Anna to get proper feedback.

As a researcher in the inter cultural communication theory; Anna would have been suggested use one of the above explained theory so that she could get help easily and the time-consuming process will also get eliminated from her side. Hence, it is quite important to use the theories of the inter cultural communication and its studies while operating in the international market (Ursu, 2018).

Important points to consider from the above case study are that Miss Anne is required following managerial qualities to develop within herself and these are-

  • Cultural sensitivity needs to be developed.
  • The meaning that the receiver will get should be anticipated.
  • An encoding that is done diligently.
  • Words, signs and images can be used.
  • Regional slayings, idioms and slangs must be avoided.
  • Transmission must be done on selective basis.

  • Feedback must be decoded carefully.

  • Empathy- one must behave like they are understanding the others point of view.
  • Orientation to the knowledge- one must have the high knowledge of the terms that they are using and also of the perception that they are having for the people around the world.
