According to the requirements of the federal university, this assignment was made to complete a report on the Australian standard under the theme of ITECH 7409 "Software Test”. With the help of this assignment, it is expected that we will be aware of Australian standards as well as have a brief knowledge of them.
According to the definition of the Australian standard, a standard is a document listed with several appropriate specifications, specific processes, as well as methods for ensuring reliability as well as safety as well as consistency of systems, services, or products. To ensure proper functioning of technology as well as systems, the Committee of Technical Committee of the Australian Standards Association is constantly reviewing standards.
Standards can be classified into three different parts. They are;
International standards: Developed by ISO, IEC, as well as national ITUs
Regional Standards: Developed by specific regions, including Australian/New Zealand joint standards
National Standards: National Standards Organization created
We have set criteria to achieve a specific goal.
Standards give consumers confidence not only in business but also in the safety as well as reliability of their products.
Support innovation in reliable new technologies
Global marketing of high-volume products
Advantageous for overseas exporters to enter overseas markets
Protect were business by properly complying with country rules as well as regulations
Among the available standards, I chose ISO / IEC / IEEE29119 as part of the research report. Here, ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization. IEEE from Institute for Electrical, Electronic Engineers, as well as IEC refers to the International Commission on Electrical Engineering. ISO / IEC。 According to the ISO / IEC Guide written in 2006/12/12, ISO as well as IEC were combined to provide useful advice to writers who set the criteria. These standards primarily address consumer needs. ISO / IEC also have its own different standards. ISO / IEC are composed of five different parts. They are;
ISO / IEC / IEEE 29119-1, Part 1: Concepts as well as Definitions - Define a description of the software test concept.
ISO / IEC / IEEE 29119-2, Part 2: Test Process - Define the test process model for the software test that was organization uses when running the test.
ISO / IEC / IEEE 29119-3, Part 3: Test Documents - Contains documentation for software tests using several templates.
ISO / IEC / IEEE 29119-4, Part 4: Test Methods - Define the design method for the test.
ISO / IEC / IEEE 29119-5, Part 5: Keyword Driven Test - Describes how to specify the software tests used in the software testing industry.
ISO, IEC, as well as IEEE 29119 are a set of standards that cover testing of systems as well as software engineering. The main objectives of this standard are:
Create a set of internationally agreed standards.
Provide a standard that is adaptable to all organizations to accommodate new technologies
Covers different levels of testing processes
We've done research on standard searches from various research articles. One of the research papers I've experienced was the adoption of a test process model from the perspective of a small organization: ISO / IEC 29119.
The study begins with the definition of a software test. This is part 2 phase of the series. He says there are various suggestions related to the test activity. The main purpose of this study is to compare these models with the resources as well as funds of small organizations established for the ISO standard guidelines (Cecilia, Karin, as well as Abraham, 2018).
The main focus was to analyse the test process model for the characteristics of small organizations. The main conclusion from this work is that the test process model is not easy to adopt in a small, standard organization.
In this exercise, we were asked to answer some standard questions. Therefore, the solution to the question is:
Standard Name
The standard name is ISO, IEC, as well as IEEE 29119, as well as ISO stands for IEC of the International Organization for Standardization, International Commission for Electrical Engineering, as well as IEEE of Electrical Research as well as Electronics Engineers.
Copyright for the standard
Copyright is owned by the joint ISO, IEC as well as IEEE committee.
Approved contributors to this document (if any) involved
The document was written by Katrica del Peru, a member of the University of Pontifica Faculty of Engineering, a software engineering development group.
Standard scope or intent
The primary scope of this standard works in five phases, as discussed in the Implementation phase. Because we are interested in a set of standard part 2, the main scope is to specify the test processes that can be used to manage, manage, as well as implement the test processes of were organization, regardless of large projects or organizations. Small tasks. It also defines as well as describes the software test process. This part is better suited for testing in the software development lifecycle model. This is not only for Tester, Test Manager, as well as Developer, but also for Project Manager. The main focus is the person responsible for managing, managing, as well as implementing the tests.
Key terms as well as understanding required to understand as well as apply standards
One of the main things we should know is the concept of software. If we don't know the actual concept, applying the standard as well as testing the process is worthless. We also need to recognize the organization as well as his project that can withstand these criteria. The description of the test process is analysed as well as managed.
Application of the standard result
The main theme of the standard is to provide a reliable foundation for people who can share expectations about services as well as products. In general, standards help promote trade provides a framework for superior economics, efficiency, as well as interoperability. Standards are the primary reasons for enhancing the safety of consumers as well as businesses as well as are the reliability of products.
Standard association with software testing
Because software testing is one of the ambiguous processes, we can maintain quality as well as meet the real needs of the consumer by meeting standards during software testing as well as meeting the level during software production.
The documentation we followed was common for some reason, but there are several differences.
Common Points
Both standard as well as research documents focus on the same standard for software testing. They included the second phase of the ISO / IEC / IEEE 29119 standard, which was primarily focused on the testing process. Both considered testing procedures for the project or some products. These documents are focused on maintaining the quality of the software as well as want to ensure that the system is functioning properly as well as compatible with were needs.
Differences
According to this standard document, this standard works for both small as well as large organizations, but research shows that small organizations are not very compatible. In addition, the criteria set up vary by product (Hesham Alaqail, 2018).
The main purpose of this assignment was to detect as well as easily analyse standards. To do this, we compared two documents, standard ISO, IEC, as well as IEEE 29119, both for standards as well as research. I have answered some questions as a requirement for my assignment. In addition, the common as well as differences between standard documents as well as research work have been performed, while standards are not the same for small as well as large organizations, but the main similarity is useful for large or small organizations to maintain process as well as product quality.
