Critical Review

It has been mentioned in the paper presented by Wilcox & Lewandowski (2018), that it all began when James Clerk Maxwell was elected for the new establishment at Cambridge for the post of the Chair of Experimental Physics which was gifted to him by seventh duke of Devonshire for its usage at the university.

It could be witnessed that the conception of Faraday which was generated due to describing the interactions for the electricity and the magnetism is known to have shown a mathematical description which comprises of precise mathematical notations. According to Maxwell (1870), this is something that have been given the definition of electromagnetic theory. In accordance to it, the show of magnetism and the electricity, Maxwell registered and exposed us to the virtues of electromagnetic field. It was also considered for providing support to the oscillation given with the help of electric current. According to Wilcox & Lewandowski (2018), the claims that were generated for the purpose of supporting electromagnetic theory by Maxwell stated that there is rather an outward which is generated with respect to the radiations caused from the source comprising at a speed which is constant and which can rather be calculated with the help of considering the values of ratio for the relevant magnetic units and their certain electrical units. According to (), this value has been considered to be concluded for somewhat about 186,000 miles per second. This speed assisted with the speed of light because this value was jibed and was safe to be concluded that the light which was concluded by Maxwell itself was created due to the simple discovery that somewhere there was a presence of the electric charge which could be generated with the help of its oscillation. It is also safe to say that this course of study at the university is a cornucopia of not just the aims of pure mathematics but also that of the Nature Philosophy as well. It is rather an added advantage that the diffusion of the sound knowledge for the subject of Physics is done with the help of imbuing the minds of the students but also for the correct dynamical principles as well. It can be also said that there is a long regard which can be taken place for the enhancement of the mental conditions and the highest functions that form a basis for the philosophers so as to gain various true laws for the motion of the bodies. The course of experimental physics, in regards to Maxwell has been classified into branches of experiments which can be concluded along with the Laboratory for the course which will be related to the research. There are few words that can be considered with respect to the classes of experiment and they can be classified as: experiments of illustration and experiments of research. In experiments of illustration, the primary focus is rather on throwing light to the ideas which are scientific. The main intention behind this type of experiments of research was that to conclude that there may be some grasp for the arrangement designed especially for students so as to embolden them with the cultivation of the ideas where one can throw light so as to form parts of study which are important. Having said this, it can also be concluded that the simplicity of the materials for the illustrative experiments depend primarily on the familiarity which can be generated with the student so as to go through an experiment which can later be acquired easily with the implementation of the ideas which can be illustrated. The main reason behind this was the generation that will appear along with the different aspects that can never be found out in the lecture rooms. Maxwell believed that science is something which can never be restricted to just in the lecture rooms. This holds ample of opportunities for pursuing any kind of research. This is the reason why experiments of the illustration holds ideas for the different kinds of mechanisms. It is rather true that the aim was to get familiarised or rather exposed to the phenomenon comprising of senses which must be generated with the senses having association of the ideas which are scientific. This was done to rather induce the students with the presenting them to the senses of the students in such a way when there is an association for the scientific ideas which are appropriate. The simple idea behind this was rather to grasp and inculcate the ideas into action and as a result this would have fulfilled the main aim behind the idea.

However, this was not the main target of the experiment research. In this type of research, the main aim was rather to achieve an ultimate objective which could have measured the ultimate objective that could have obtained a numerical estate for the same magnitude.

Its inference and analogy can be done in such a way while comparing these two type of researches to the primary and secondary researches. The primary research can be inferred to the experiments of illustration and the secondary research can be compared to the experimental researches. This can be implied because primary research is first hand research and the secondary research is done on the already research articles. According to Maxwell (1870), the mental energy is limited, no wonder how precocious is the student. Hence it will not be prudent to say that the experimental study is only concerned to the quantity. The author mentions that it is rather a great extent to the questioning of the distribution of energy. Maxwell (1870), also mentions that there are various different channels of energy which are rather more useful than one another. There is no denying that there is an availability of the purposes which can be accomplished. The analogy for experimental research might as well sound monotonous, but according to the author it is actually not. Maxwell believes that the simulation of experimental study is not just related to the understanding of natural phenomenon and success at a level which will be more lucrative but it is rather much more than that. It should be free from any monetary of societal advantages.
