Influence of Leadership Roles and Management Instruments on Public Service Motivation

Introduction and research question

Employees role in an organization cannot be ignored owing to the value as well as leadership roles. This is because organization goals are achieved through a proper form of leadership. It is required that employees understand responsibilities and respond in a productive way. Employee performance is attributed to the base of motivation and leadership roles. The measurement of productivity is based on the role of the organization as well as the leadership environment.

Highly motivated people would tend to become productivity for a company. It would help to make the environment conducive for leadership and increases the job characteristics. One of the important areas for motivation is connected with leadership roles. A good leader has the power to influence people in the company and provide a positive direction to organization activities.

The main area of focus is on managers of public sectors and the motivation of staff in the workplace. A basic understanding is present in the industry, but a need is present for changing the roles of leadership. The research question is related to leadership roles and differentiation in an organization.
Research Question What is the influence of leadership role in employee motivation for public sector organization

It is the dependent variable because the whole part of the study would be based on measuring motivation through effective forms of leadership. Public service can be explained in terms of the organization which seeks the wellbeing of society. The independent variable for this case would be the economy and engagement of people for respective job duties.

Problem is present in identifying motivation levels and classifying roles on a theoretical framework. Key requirements are based on the evaluation of managers. The low levels of motivation tend to affect the industry trends as less productivity is favoured with employees. It is required to asses the issues of employees and raises motivation. Leadership management would be the ideal tool to resolve the conflict between employees in the public sector organization.

The principle of authority and responsibility would be applied in the research area owing to leadership and employee motivation.

Literature Review

Leadership roles and management behaviour can be regarded as an important factor for public service motivation. A study carried out by Akbar and Hamed discussed leadership styles are owing to organization structure. The study was made of seventy-eights brandies of the bank, and a random sampling method was adopted on the base of the employees and leadership styles CITATION Sey13 l 1033 (Afjahi amp Dehghanan, 2013). Styles of leadership were the common research objective of the study. It was found from the literature that organization behaviour is dependent on the emission of leadership and correct forms of job motivation. Many variables determine the motivation level of an employee for the management and hierarchical style. Transformational leadership is based on independent variables which include intellectual simulation as well as rewards policies adopted by the managers and policymakers.

A study carried out by Miao and Newman showed that public service motivation could be used to enhance the innovative behaviours of an organization CITATION Qin17 l 1033 (Miao, et al., 2017). Research showed that public sector employees are vulnerable to fluctuating levels of motivation. A need is present for innovation which can be empowered with the help of leadership and public service. The study analyzes a group of Chinese empowers and formulated fining to build role model for an organization.

A study made by Wouter showed that public service motivation provides a link to the transformational form of leadership CITATION Wou14 l 1033 (Vandenabeele, 2014). The study was carried out on the data set of three thousand people. This showed the motivation of people is based on psychological needs. The concept of self-determination theory briefly correlates the result of the research study.

A study carried out by Reginald show that leadership and public service can be used for employee engagement. The study showed the administrative section has a key impact on leadership roles and also address the motivation of people in an organization. Research study provided information about the mechanism which can be used to influence a higher range of people in service and workplace CITATION Reg16 l 1033 (G.Ugaddan amp Sung Min Park, 2016).

Methodology

The study would be based on quantitative and qualitative forms of methodology in which interviews would be conducted and surveys would be done for the public service organization. Sampling method would be based on 100 participants of different workplaces. Information from the surveys and questionnaires would be analyzed on the base of motivation and forms of leadership CITATION Asr16 l 1033 (Asrar-ul-Haq amp Kuchinke, 2016). The choice of methodology is accurate and would provide accurate results regarding the research question and measurement of leadership styles.
The methodology would be analyzed for core issues for information. Ethical codes would be applied in the phase of data collection. It would be made clear that information from surveys and interviews would not involve any unethical means of data collection and responses would be free to answer the question regarding motivation and types of leadership CITATION Iqb15 l 1033 (Iqbal, et al., 2015).

The study can be limited on the base of time as the data collection would account for the accurate forms of information. Time would be the most important factors which would be a major limitation. An accurate form of research can also pose a threat to the implication of the study. Measurement scale and availability of technology would also a limitation for the study CITATION Wou14 l 1033 (Vandenabeele, 2014).
It is required that research integrity should be based on the employees motivation and type of leadership. Honesty and ethical issues which can arise in this study are related to communication skills and attitudes of people. Research methodology will be base honesty and integrity CITATION Sey13 l 1033 (Afjahi amp Dehghanan, 2013).

Conclusion

The research was based on leadership styles and motivation of people in public sector organization. This would help to increase knowledge and provide a further understanding of the public sector organization. The research would also be helpful in evaluating the environment of an organization. It was found from the research that employs motivation can be improved with the help of changes in the environment as well as corporate structure. The research study also evaluated the leadership roles for management types in public sector organization.
