E. List and Description of Training Materials for Managing Mental Patients

For managing the mental health of patients, employers, or workers need to accumulate every sort of training material required for the program. People who are engaged with the occupation to take care of mental patients always have to deal with complex situations and difficulties. A training program is essentially required to identify and help when an individual has an issue of mental health or learning disability. Hence, for evaluating a training program at every branch of A and J bank, some materials are resources are required. The list of training materials and their descriptions are given below:-

1) Productivity Aids

Every working employee would get to know about safely handling mental patients. They should require top-quality productivity aids that provide a quick analysis of data when it is urgently needed (Pearce et al., 2020). Productivity aids can be made available in electronic forms or printed media to meet the demands of the employees. These productivity aids can include step by step decisions and inclusive guides that assist employees to take care of mental health patients. This training material can be customized to correspond with the healthcare policies.

2) Verbal and visual learning methods

The training programs must include materials that appeal to different styles of learning such as hands-on, visual, and verbal. Every healthcare employee who takes care of mental patients must have to use a lot of teaching methods. 5) Computer-Based Training modules

While specific kinds of training materials might be effective for face-to-face training, some other programs can be completed through the internet. The computer-based modules are always more effective for working staff as they can be learned from different places at different times (Moll et al., 2018). The computer-based training modules even assist the organization and allow the management to track the courses of each employee. Thus, with the help of computer-based training modules, healthcare employees can learn best practices of guiding mental people and provide them with necessary wellbeing. However, computer-based training has some serious issues with the network. Thus, before engaging in this training kit, the healthcare staff are recommended to sit at a better place where proper connection to the internet is available.

6) Microsoft Office

In order to deliver training to the mental healthcare employees, it is required to have Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. These office programs can create handouts and training outlines for staff and deliver the notes to the instructors. With the help of excel and word, instructors can teach effective steps about how to handle mental health patients. With the assistance of Microsoft Powerpoint, a video graphics show is presented to the employees, where they can learn useful tips and suggestions about caring for patients.

F. Program Evaluation Plan

1) Conduct an assessment of training needs

In the program evaluation plan, the first thing to do is to assess the performance issue to get an effective idea of what is causing it and to analyze if the training is an effective solution. Before any people rush off, make training equipment, and perform a training program, it is a significant idea to take a step back and analyze the situation (King, Wissow and Baum, 2018). By analyzing the problem of workplace performance and determining the needs of training, the goals of the business can be identified. Hence, assessing and conducting an assessment of the training needs is an urgent plan for mental health workers.

2) Keep learning principles in mind

In providing training to the workers working at mental health hospitals, recognition of basic training principles is very much essential. The health workers share some basic characteristics that make training more significant for them. If the training program disregards every learning principle, then it would not be more effective at certain stages. Thus, while delivering effective essential health care solutions to mental patients, it is essentially vital to keep learning principles in mind.

3) Create learning objectives

The third step in a training program plan is to create the learning objectives. A learning objective can solve critical things while handling mental patients. When it comes to mental health, it is essential to know the actual reason for the mental problem which the patient is suffering from (Moll et al., 2018). A common symptom of depression is sadness, and it can reveal itself in various other ways such as friendliness or loss of interest in activities. A learning objective can help employees to know the actual cause of depression and assist them to eradicate their mental health issues.

4) Design materials for training

To conduct a successful training program, it is very much important to accumulate every kind of training material required for the assessment. Designing training equipment is essential before rushing onto the next step. The learning needs of the employees should be primarily focused upon. The healthcare organization is required to create only training assessments and contents that directly relate to the objectives of learning.

5) Develop materials for the training program

After designing the materials for training, they should be developed by the organization by various means. The lists of training materials include productivity aids, first aids, computer-based modules, Video graphics, Microsoft office for presentation, posters, flip-charts, and materials for hands-on elements. So while creating these training materials, it is vital to keep in mind the things that will help healthcare staff learn most significantly and the learning objectives.

6) Execute the training program

The last stage of the training program is its implementation process. It may seem obvious, but one of the most vital things that will have to do in this stage informs the health staff that will attend the program. They should be provided plenty of time so that they can work it into their training period and complete every essential pre-training preparation. Besides, a learning management system plays a long role in assisting during this phase. It is used to assign, track, and deliver reports on health care training. By using a learning management system, it will be easy for healthcare staff to log in and see the list of training which they have been assigned (Kahn, Collinge and Soltysik, 2016). The LMS system in healthcare units can also send notification emails to the employees when due dates are approaching or news patients are admitted. During the implementation stage of training, the organizational management can do a lot of things like informing the supervisor if workers, reserve a room for training, purchase every essential supply, work through travelling logistics or scheduling, and arrange consumables. Hence, it can be opined that a mental health training program is not a compliance training, it is a training based on cultural change. Without accepting a supportive organizational culture and attitudes, rules, and learning skills would not be effective.
