This assignment aims to carry out a reflective analysis of the nature of the organization, roles of management, challenges experienced, power of politics, communication and conflicts in the organization. It will describe why these topics are important and how I have experienced them in my journey of life and how it has helped me in learning about these concepts.

Analysis of Module Topics

Nature of The Organization

An organization is created with a motive to achieve a common goal through the internal and external structure which defines the nature of the organization. It is a very important concept because it helps to establish a relationship between different departments and helps in carrying out the projects effectively (Gillon, 2018). This is useful for me because I am also going to be a part of the organization in future. I was not aware of the importance of nature in the organization. After understanding it in the lectures I found that it is the nature of the organization which helps create a good environment for the employees. I also realized that it is due to it the company flourishes in the business market.

Role of Management and Challenges

Management act as a driving force that pushes its employees towards the goal by assigning a task that needs to be accomplished either individually or in a group. It is the management of the organization that ensures whether an individual worker can attain organizational goals but managing the entire organization is not easy. Various challenges need to be addressed like workforce diversity, downsizing and so on (James, Jilke & Van Ryzin, 2017). These concepts were very important for me to learn as my goal in life is to become a manager of a renowned organization. I was aware of some of the learning because I did my internship in an organization where I learnt the role of the managers but still there was a need for me to understanding things in detail and with this subject I feel that if I get the opportunity I will be able to become a good manager. During the course, I learnt various approaches of the management to address the challenges like to overcome diversity challenges the organization started providing diversity training it also comes up with the retention policies to improve the company's downsizing problem. Even I learnt how to incorporate a change for innovation in the organization.

Motivation, Influence and Political Power

Over the course it is seen that it is due to motivation, employees perform well to achieve the goals of the organization. Managers who can influence motivation in the organization are found to be successful (London, Bear, Cushenbery & Sherman, 2019). I learnt through this concept that the only to achieve the growth of the organization is to motivate employees and decrease the influence of political power. I realized that political power has always resulted in a loss as it forces the manager to hire a candidate who is less deserving in comparison to others. There are other examples where due to political power the organization suffered thus I made the firm decision that when I will be the manager of the organization I will not let the people decide political power rather I will make the decisions for the betterment of the company.

Communication, Conflicts and Negotiation

A manager cannot carry out the basic function of an organization without communication from scratch to the end of the project communication between team and client is necessary. I understand the importance of communication in life as it helps to share important information. I have myself underwent a case where one of my colleagues failed to give information and the result was the client was dissatisfied with the work (Ting-Toomey,2017). This is why when communication skills were taught in the class I paid extra attention because one misinterpretation of communication has a negative impact. I also learnt the way by which the manager can resolve conflicts within the organization. Through examples given in the coursebook, I learnt that conflicts can occur at any point of time may and it may be related to the use of a new vs old technology or other. In such cases, I realized that with negotiation it can be resolved.

Conclusion on People Management and Teams

It can be concluded that I learnt a lot of things during the modules. I am looking forward to applying the concepts to learn when I will start my career in some organization. The concepts have proved to be beneficial for my development and growth.
