In academic and personal life I have experienced or observed that the people surrounding me have certain expectations, faith and requirements which I supposed to fulfill. For instance, I can say that during the course, I have developed knowledge regarding requirements engineering, different best practices, tools and techniques used in the requirement engineering. These understandings are required for gathering, analyzing, documenting, validating and knowledge requirements (Dick, Hull & Jackson, 2017). The requirements imposed by different sources such as parent’s teachers and others. I have also experienced that the course also impose some requirements. For instance, it can be stated that there are some certain ways I have observed that are required to be followed for passing the courses which include identifying what the course requires from me, the associated difficulties I might face, writing the document and manage the requirements to perform well in the course.
The requirements engineering is the process following which requirements in the engineering design process are defined, documented and maintained. The requirement model is the first phase of development in waterfall model (Shahid & Tasneem, 2017). As I have observed, the requirement engineering is assimilates with the daily life requirement management of people. As per my viewpoint I have both intentionally and unintentionally applied the principles of requirements engineering to fulfill what is required from me. For instance, at an early age I did not have the knowledge of requirements engineering or tools used for manage those requirements. However, I have employed the requirements engineering practices into my solving the daily life problems.
I had an interest in football and I liked to play after school is over. However, my parent’s requirements were different as they always wanted me to perform well in my academics and not to spend much time on others though there was not conflict between me and my parents. I have gathered knowledge regarding the dissatisfaction of my parents about my study by communicating with my parents. As soon as I observed that they have some requirements felicitated, I started to analyze what the actual requirement from me and how can I meet my parent’s requirements along with satisfying my requirements for playing football. In order to create a balance, I have unintentionally employed the requirements analysis process. For instance, when I observed that I have to create balance between my requirements and my parent’s requirements, I have increased the time devoted to the study in previous days. Instead, I have started playing regularly keeping the parents satisfied about my effort towards study. After implementing these tactics, I have observed that the requirements were validated and managed which helped me to reduce the daily life stress (Rush & Sharma, 2017).
I have also observed that I have unintentionally applied the requirements engineering processes in during my university courses. I have analyzed the requirements of the course, preference and requirements of the lecturers and my preferences and requirements. In doing so, I have applied mostly the analysis of the situation through gathering adequate information and tried to fulfill all the requirements with the tools and skills I have.
The learning from the current course about gathering information, analyzing the requirements, documenting the same, validating and managing the requirements have now brought my requirements engineering skills to be polished by the external knowledge body. During the course, I have learnt that there are some rules and principles using which in the overall engineering process successfully requirements can be managed. As mentioned by (), in order to meet the engineering requirements existing system information can be gathered. It can be applied to the requirements imposed on me.
Along with this, I have learned how to conduct the requirements engineering following a standard process. In addition to this, I have learnt that I have to maintain a standard for meeting the requirements. For instance, the extent to which a work is needed to be done to satisfy the needs of a person has been developed. I have also identified how to gather domain information and external regulations as external regulations might create an inhibitory or facilitatory effect on my engineering of requirements as my principle of meeting requirements may be different from others (Dunbar, Laing & Wynder, 2016).
