Answer: Communication with Stakeholder

For building effective communication among stakeholder, rather than using traditional method, I will adopt methods of involving and collaborating with them through adopting formal communication methods such as organizing meetings or using email as communication medium. The first thing that I will do is to clarify the objectives and purpose of the communication. For effective communication strategic planning is important.

Strategic planning of the engagement activity requires:

▪ Define the strategic objectives of the engagement

▪ Identify the stakeholders and the critical areas of the relationship

▪ Establish priorities (stakeholders / issues to be investigated)

Further to this, carefully listening to the feedback provided by the stakeholder is another important factor.

Communication with community group

For communicating with the support community group, I preferred organizing group meetings communicating in focus groups, through conduction of surveys, or online engagement such as joining some social group and answering online to the questions raises.

I will adopt following strategy;

Review the list of spokespersons identified at all levels, listing their areas of expertise
Define and test message templates that announce the first case
Identify the main media key means of communication; create and / or update a list of journalists and promote good relations with the media by providing periodic information on the evolution of the epidemic
Identify the media, other communication channels and “influencers” evaluating their potential to reach the target population. Use the media (including social media) and the "influencers" they enjoy of trust and credibility in the general population

Obstacles in Communication

The main issue in communicating with stakeholders is identification of interest of stakeholder. Therefore, mapping the primary and secondary stakeholder is important and if you are not able to understand than probably, we will be failed in establishing the effective communication.

For accountability evaluation is always important. It is crucial for assessment of program’s effect over the local community that whether the set objectives were achieved or not & identification of opportunities for improvement

With the help of evaluation, it is possible to assess the quality of program and its appropriateness and also of the process adopted while its implementation. It helps in answering the following questions regarding a program;

Any issues faced during the program?

What needs to be in place before effective evaluation of health programs can occur

The first thing to do is to involve the main stakeholders of the program and without this, it is not possible to prepare an evaluation plan that can meet the expectation & needs of the main players. Next step is to clarify the evaluation purpose like any planning it is important identifying the reason of evaluation. This needs a clear direction & vision. So, setting up the purpose is second important thing. Next is identification of questions for the evaluation. This include list of main questions that will help in determining overall scope and approach of evaluation. The final thing is deciding regarding resource of evaluation. It is recommended to spent 10 to 15 percent of budget on evaluation programs.

Answer: The methods used for evaluation includes easy discussion with the smoker and provide them regular support that enhance their morale to quit smoking. Another thing, I will do is use the pre-and post-cessation data of program and use the records of participants maintained in the hospital who attended this program and ascertain the degree of reduction in using the tobacco. Further, I will draft a questionnaire. This method will include combination of behavioral skill and cognitive intervention training.
