Overview of Literature

This study demonstrated the article that reflects the efficiency of the house to house visit on routine oral polio immunization (Dora Ward Curry, Henry, Syed Allison & Me, 2014). Routine immunization (RI) refers to the sustainable, consistent, and timely interaction among the vaccine and the people who deliver and receiver in the process. This ensures that each individual is completely immunized against vaccine avoidable diseases. Strengthening RI is one of the supports of the polio abolition strategy. This paper assessed the effectiveness of house-to-house calls on routine oral polio immunization.

The data was collected from three different countries that include India, Ethiopia, and Angola. The authors used data from the 30 cluster sampling methodology which collected samples through household surveys of the concierge of aged between 12-33 months. Using the frequency table and the logistic regression analyses the study found that the children in the household in which the concierge received the survey are more immunized as compared to other children. The study found the rate of complete RI coverage against the polio is high in Ethiopia that is 75.8 percent and 69.2 per cent in India and 61.8 per cent in Angola. House to house visit highly impact on the Polio eradication strategies for the countries.

Critique of Research

In this research, there are various sections that need to be improved and there are other sections that give strength to the entire research. According to the article home to home visit routine oral polio immunization is the best approach for the polio eradication strategy (Choudhary, Perry & Solomon, 2019). Home visits enhance RI coverage in remote areas that are at high risk and are unreached by clinical based activity. The study has collected the data from three different countries in order to get a wider and deeper understanding of this approach. Apart from this, there are various limitations of this research such as cross-sectional design. The study has demonstrated the impact of the house to house visit on polio eradication but there are several other interventions such as community announcements, communications, etc which influences RI.

It is impossible to analyze the single effect of this intervention on others. As per the AEA guiding principle which stands for American Evaluation Associations is based on the five principles that include systematic inquiry, competence, integrity, responsibility for public welfare, and respect for the people who are the part of research (Middleton et al., 2018). The stands on all the principles as it is evident because this research is responsible for the public welfare and no such issues are found in the research related to competence and integrity.

Reflection

This article enhances my knowledge in the field of clinical health practices. The methodological learned from this research is that routine immunization is very important in order to ensure that each individual is completely immunized against vaccine avoidable diseases. The house to house visit helps in polio eradication strategy followed by WHO. I have done the same if I was confronted with the same or similar policy research.
