Globally, COVID-19pandemic is affecting people at the social, economic, and political sphere. There is a massive rise of COVID cases in Victoria State with cases rising to double digits every day. This has led to the beginning of community infection in Victoria. The relaxation in the lockdown increased people gathering across Australia. The pandemic has created surprising challenges for healthcare workers (HCW) and the general public all over the country and the globe (Melissa Davey, 2020). The close proximity of families due to the winter season is contributing to the start of relapse of infection in Victoria. Moreover, individual attitude and behavior is transmitting the virus across Victoria. The young population is getting an infection and gaining the potential to spread among the community. Also, the testing findings is resulting in more cases than actual prevailing in the city (Melissa Davey, 2020). The people believe in pre-contemplation and avoid participating with the strict interventions imposed during lockdowns. Lack of self-sufficiency among general promotes the relapse in the community. Moreover, temptation along with self-efficacy contributes towards the approaches where the general public refuses to change behavior with changing works owing to pandemic (Han et al., 2017). Both the community and government have participated to impart education during the pandemic that helps to deal with the rising infection across the state.
Health promotion is an essential component during COVID-19 owing to the increased number of positive cases. The spread of the virus and its pathogenicity pose lockdowns all over the globe. Healthcare workers are the primary sources of care providers in the pandemic. The lack of information and unawareness in the Victoria state is a major factor contributing to the increasing cases of infections. Healthcare workers (HCW) along with various hospital organizations are participating to promote awareness to control the spread of the disease. Traveling and community gatherings constitute are major community issues leading to the relapse of the viral infection (Heyden et al., 2017). HC communities are involved in improving conditions to deal with a pandemic. HCW can use the native language to impart information among the mass. Information Technology has evolved the scope of communication in real-time. The State of Victoria promotes education to the general public using social media applications like Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, and twitter (Heyden et al., 2017). The use of social media overall created a sense of positivity and spread awareness. The use of posters mentioning concepts of wearing a mask, hand sanitization, covering mouth while sneezing and the importance of testing even with mild symptoms. Moreover, the Victoria state has initiated testing and quick isolation of positive patients. This Department of Health and Human Services in Victoria has developed a special website for solving issues related to COVID-19 (Han et al., 2017). The department has increased the medical resources like PPE kits to help the healthcare professionals from the associated risk of Coronavirus during patient handling.
The increasing cases of COVID-19 are impacting the mortality and mortality rates all around the world. The cases rose from 9000 to 37000 with the month of July, 2020 (Australian Government, 2020). There was a sharp rise in the COVID-19 patients in the state of Victoria followed by a slow decline. Later, the relaxation in the community restrictions has again spiked the positive cases in the state. The government of Australia imposed strict measures all over the country which focus on improved policies for social distancing including bans from going to cafe, churches, bars and other community gatherings spots (Australian Government,2020).Government forced mandatory quarantine for travelers and testing to symptomatic patients. The emergence of COVID-19 made strict rules for use of mask. These interventions have effectively reduced infection in the Victoria (Friston et al., 2020). The government of Australia is focusing on education community to create behavioral changes to eliminate the spread of infection. They created pamphlets and organizing seminars for mass awareness. Use of news papers and televisions is being done to spread information among people. Information was translated to the native language for effective communication among the Victorian public. These interventions and strategic approaches help to promote the information spread. The people were informed regarding the social, political, and economic sphere according to their dependency. Self-behavioral changes were also involved using group discussions that change the conservative thinking patterns of people (Friston et al., 2020). To achieve the psychological behavior of every individual systematic discussion were implemented to satisfy individual ego. Improved community response helps to deal with the pandemic effectively.
Community engagement is an important aspect during emergence state. It has helped to understand the risk and involves people in response actions. Co-ordination mechanism is essential for providing health education among common people. Health education is essential in promoting and influencing people and aware politically, socially, and economically (Heyden et al., 2017). The community engagement introduced people with the risk associated with COVIC-19 (Broucke, 2020). Involvement, consultation, collaboration is aimed to show community engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic. The people in Victoria is showing involvement with the changing environment by keeping themselves updated with the web tools and internet (Heyden et al., 2017). This engages people in skill development and to respond effectively to meet the challenge of COVID-19 (Sullivan et al., 2020).The government of Victor is equally participating in imparting technical support in the community. Local knowledge among community and expert advice is helpful in empowering people. Experts focus on health education by describing associated risk with COVID-19 without affecting sentimental values among the community. Health education will inform people to relieve the patients and their families from pandemic fear which can hamper the preventive measures (Bradley et al., 2020). It will help the people to deal effectively for better health outcomes. Technical support, e-learning platforms are effective resources which attract people to put interest skill development majorly to the weaker section of the society which creates a sense of behavioral change among the community without affecting their individual sentiments (Broucke, 2020).
