Introduction: 

The study aimed at discussing the role of quality management in improving patient safety in cancer hospitals. Quality management is an important aspect improving the safety of the patients suffering from chronic illnesses. Patient safety is important because it reflects upon the care provided to the patient in any hospital setting.  It is important to maintain quality in the hospital for provision of appropriate and safe care to cancer patients. For the purpose of promoting patient safety it is important to develop the skills of the nurses providing care to the patients of cancer. In Tata memorial appropriate strategies are implemented to improve the quality management procedure so that the patients are provided with appropriate care. Quality management will focus on provision of support to the patient and ensure that the patients are safe in the hospital. If the quality management in the hospitals is poor then the patient will not be safe and they might be at a fear developing different health issues and infections in the hospital.

Materials and methods: 

The materials which were utilised in his study involved questionnaires and interview questions. Various questions were formed for conducting the research and the aim of the interviewer was to gain appropriate knowledge. The methodology which was utilised in this research was qualitative primary research. It aimed at conducting interviews and providing questionnaires to the patients to gain knowledge about their views in the improvement of quality management in the hospital for the cancer patients. The participants who were involved in this study were cancer patients and a specific exclusion and inclusion criteria was prepared for the participants so that appropriate results were obtained. The analysis technique which was used in his study was thematic analysis. In this technique common terms in the interview were identified. These common terms included quality management, patient safety and patient satisfaction in cancer hospitals. The themes identified in this technique were then coded under this technique.
