Narrative

It is a story of two children, who lived in a small village area, somewhere amid Central Asia. They weren't some of a rebel but just ordinary children who loved to play around where they lived. Their names were Robert and Cynthia. Cynthia would use to play with her girls and Robert would play among his boys. One day while playing around, Robert had eye contact with Cynthia. It was a sweet innocent liking that happened between the two. Soon they were seen playing together and gradually all boys and girls started intermingling with one another.

Many of the parents discouraged this involvement amongst their girls with boys and vice-versa but since they were children, none took it seriously. Time passed, and Robert and Cynthia developed utmost trust and faith within one another. They became inseparable. Despite many boundations imposed upon them from their family, they tend to break all of that. Gradually they found their one true love in each other.

One fine day, they both confronted their parents about their deep love and as expected, they were drawn apart. Even after explaining their deep love for one another, no one understood their situation and highly condemn this act. Cynthia rebelled against this decision as she was adamant on the part to be a lawfully wedded wife of Robert only. He was locked down in her own home by her parents. Robert as soon as he heard this discreetly went to meet Cynthia through the back door of her home.

They decided to leave their parent’s home, that lavish and comfortable life and make a life of their own far away from the city where no one could find them. There was a deep sense of passion and remorse within one another. They never wanted to depart from their families, their near and dear ones, but love is a vicious motivator. It brings out a different version of you. You can cross any limits and all boundations to have one moment with your beloved. Here they were planning on spending the rest of their lives with one another.

Until the next morning, they spent the entire time with one another on Cynthia’s terrace. At dawn, Robert went back to his home to start making preparations for their elopement within one week. At Cynthia’s place, during morning breakfast, her father and her mother at the table informed Cynthia that her marriage has been fixed with some man who is the son of her father’s friend. The marriage was due in the next 2 days. She refused this proposal firmly and went back to her room where she cried her heart out. She needed to communicate this to Robert but had no means to communicate her situation to Robert as she was locked at her place.

There Robert was making preparations for their coming future. He had not even the slightest idea of what was happening with Cynthia. Cynthia was stuck very badly in her situation as she cannot imagine her life without Robert and cannot accept anyone else him. On the next day, amidst all of the preparations that were happening at her place, she had no involvement in any of it and was in her room alone. The marriage was due in the next 10 hours. She was in such a mental agony and pain that she could not take it and therefore ending her life seemed to her the best way out from her situation.

She grabbed a stall from her cupboard and tied it to a ceiling fan and hung her. Hearing this Robert too consumed poison and kills himself.

Rationale

The given story of Robert and Cynthia has a similar background with that of Romeo and Juliet, with mild modifications. Romeo and Juliet loved each other beyond what anyone could imagine. They loved each other’s soul and not just the body. They both belonged to a rival family named Capulet and Montague. They never thought of loving one another but they fell in love gradually. None of them knew each other's house unless told. They both tried to convince their families but couldn't do that as the enmity their houses behold for one another was so deep-rooted that they couldn't think anything beyond that. Seeing to their parent's whims, they decided to not give up on their one true love and decided to get married in secret. They were under this illusion that once their family sees them happy, they shall forget their hatred and accept their bond. However, fate had something else in its mind. It wanted to send a message to the people even amongst hatred, one can find love too if one is ready to embrace it. They got married under Friar Lawrence, the priest. After that, they decided to live at their houses for a while and then on Christmas they shall disclose their marriage. But they never got this chance as Romeo killed Juliet's cousin, brother Tybalt, as a revenge for killing his best friend Mercutio. The king sentenced him to exile for the rest of his life. Juliet was betrothed to a man named Paris and to avoid that she faked her death so that when Romeo shall hear the news he shall come to meet her and they shall disclose their marriage. But not knowing about Juliet's plan, he assumed her to be dead and consumed poison. Seeing this Juliet also killed herself.

Similarly, Robert and Cynthia loved one another but due to their families dis-contentment, they decided to end their lives rather than giving in to their families wishes.
