Introduction to QRP Plan

The aim of the study is to demonstrate the QRP plan on wastewater management from the city of Sydney Council. QRP management plan helps the organisations or businesses to accomplish all the strategic objectives of the organisation. It facilitates the delivering of project goals eradicate the deviations from the project plan. In this study quality risk and procurement plan will be discussed and the entire procedure will be discussed in the study. However, this study will demonstrate one integrated tool and its selection and filed of interest(Willetts et al. 2017).

The water management plan of Sydney focuses on improving water efficiency by decentralizing water in order to enhance the ways in which it is used for building operations, sourcing and many more purposes. It is noted that a large amount of water is wasted which will have a diverse effect in upcoming years for Sydney. Therefore, various steps and procedure are taken by the council in order to eradicate these effects. They implement a master plan that ensures that the local areas water needs and supply meet the sustainability. The decentralized water method leads to maximize water efficiency. This master plan is comprised of five steps which will be demonstrated in the study. A justifiable conclusion is also provided at the end of the study which will include all the findings.

Quality Management

Sydney is considered as one of the most modernized and sustainable developed cities in Australia(Crasti 2016). The population growth rate of the country is increasing immensely which directly impact on the uses of natural resources. Natural resources and its destructive uses can lead to a diverse condition in future. Water is extremely increasing for household purposes industrial purposes and many other sources of uses. Various steps are taken by the council in order to eradicate these issues. Decentralized water master plan has been introduced to enhance water management system of Sydney.

The quality management plan is comprised of six steps that include project creation, project development, project initiation, project execution, and project commission and handover. The project creation set of goals for the QRP plan(Roseen et al. 2017). The goal of this plan is to deliver a good quality of water to Sydney with the least risk. The risk involved in this process comprises of insufficient supply of water that meets the needs and requirement of the people political and business instability loss of economic opportunities and so on. For this, the council needs to maintain a relationship with the government and the businesses in order to reduce pressure for the companies.

The water management plan of Sydney sets high-quality management system. The quality management system of this plan covers all the criteria’s of quality, for example, the sewage and stormwater was treated very efficiently that it may be used as a water resource for further uses. Water is treated with vegetated systems through various steps and channels in order to use it as a water resource(Clarke et al. 2019). This master plan reduced the pollutants in stormwater. Water treatment technology in Sydney is highly advanced in past decades which involve the use of innovative technology to convert impure water into drinking water. The key benefit of this system is that it enhances water availability and delivers water in order to green the city and enhancing liveability.

This master plan is created with keeping the future demands and opportunities of growth in water usage across the city. The need for water will be increasing as the population rate is increasing simultaneously(Kawabata et al. 2017). The main aim of this project is to eradicate factors that lead to water shortage in future. This master plan has identified the local water as the non-potable water which is substituted by potable water from varied sources such as non-potable water, seawater roof, water recycling water etc. The target setting comprises of push and pulls factors.

Risk Management

The risk that has been identified in this master plan is the inadequate supply of water that may not fulfil the needs and requirements of the people. The other factors which can affect this plan include business and political instability, lost economic opportunities, and poor policy responses. The water scarcity is mainly arisen due to complex interaction among the social economic and environmental factors(Bogdanoff, 2019). Participation of all the stakeholders involved in this process should be productive in order to accomplish this plan.

This risk can be eradicated by having proper communication with the government authorities and the industrial associations. In this master plan, the council advise all the industry to use water efficiently withoutsimply throwing water into sewage. The water must be treated various times until it can be treated again(Gilbert et al. 2018). All the stakeholders who are directly or indirectly associated with this master plan should participate actively. Apart from this the quality risk searches reliability, durability, competence, curtsy andsecurities are also considered in risk management. In order to analyse this, the council should make a proper report that includes all the guidelines under which organisations need to use water most efficiently.

Apart from this Council should make a team that check all the processes that are on-going and find the gaps that need to be filled by implementing effective strategies. However, the organisation should conduct time by time meetings with the stakeholders in order to overview the challenges faced by the stakeholders. In addition, the council should check local area water needs time by time in order to see the amount of water used and the amount of water which is wasted. The target of this project is to amend zero increase in potable water uses and the council is doing this the most effective way(Sitzenfrei, et al. 2017). This plan is very difficult to implement as it is difficult to convert rainwater into drinking water that matches the entire standard. The stormwater management of the city is quite old which leads to entering a large number of pollutants in water. This issue can be resolved by adding stormwater management systems.

Procurement Management

Procurement process in any project is very essential to ensure that the supplies and goods are available for the project. It contains all the essential materials and services for the project. Project procurement includes three important steps that are plan, conduct and administrator. In this master, plan council needs to make alignment with various parties such as the NSW office of water, industries, local municipalities etc. Next, it is the responsibility of the council to divide the teams that effectively communicate with these parties and plan all the agreements and contract with them.

Payment of this party will be delivered by an interval of time when half of the work and one-fourth of the work will be completed(Watson, et al. 2018). Companies that are the part of construction needs to request for tender. After all this process, all the stakeholders should adhere to the deadlines and complete their portion of work undertaken by them. Regular meetings will be conducted to analyse the growth of the project. The quality of products will be checked at the time of delivery so that the validation of the products can be verified. The final step of this plan is to manage the performance for accessing the effectiveness of this project. This is done by using KPI which give immediate results and helps to identify the gaps and develop strategies in order to fill the gaps.

The financial balance is very important because this project is a very long term project and proper management is imperative. Various programs are conducted in order to complete this plan such as efficiency programs and so on. The design and the growth of water efficiency programs will undertake collaboration with various government agencies, Federal departments, climate change department, building partnerships etc. Federal department and climate change are responsible for finding and resource allocation in order to advocate and lobby for the efficiency of water supply(Mukheibir and Currie2016). This QRP Plan is impactful and efficient in order to successfully implement this water management plan in Sydney. The quality is a very important criterion in the supply of water.

The quality of water supplied to the people should match the standards after treating through various operations. The treatment of water is done through various methods in order to make it drinkable. However various steps were taken into account by the council in order to deliver the best quality of water to the people of Sydney. Apart from this risk management system plays an integrated role because all the risks are identified through this process. Risk management and procurement plan are the pillars for the success of any project. Each and every stakeholder need to be very proactive in performing their roles and responsibilities. For the accomplishment of this project proactive participation is needed from all end.

Integrated Tool

The integrated tools used in this project will be a Gantt chart which is one of the most commonly used project management tools. This tool helps to critically analyse the activities that are ongoing in the project and the activities that are overlapping on the other activities. The left segment of this chart comprises of all the activities that need to be done and the other section of the chart shows the mentioned deadline of the task(Mukheibir and Currie 2016). This chart commonly used for tracking the schedules of the project and it is more importantly useful for demonstration of additional information. Easy to understand and deliver clear visibility of the date and the time on which project needs to be completed. It is also helpful in analysing the performance of each individual and the work they are doing.

The deadline of the projects is easily viewed in the chart and it is easy to monitor all the function with zero complication. It is very easy to conduct team meetings through this project. Managers can easily demonstrate the job rules and co-ordinate with the members while viewing their progress report through the chart. Status of the projects is checked through this. This chart is the best option for better resource allocation in the project. This chart promotes the transparency of the work completed by team members which motivate others to perform well accomplish all the predefined goals of the organisation(Paul et al. 2018).

This process is very important for the projects that are long term projects and require a lot of management in each and every step(Anda 2017). Also, it is very beneficial for the projects in which a large number of members needs to be hired to accomplish the goal of the project. Managers identify the performance of the individual so that the roles and responsibilities can be easily divided as per their performance.
