Organisations and their Environment

Introduction

The aim of the study is to understand the operational environment of two well-known organizations which serve in two different sectors; first organization is  Royal Berkshire Hospital which is a profound National Service hospital found in the town of Reading in a foreign country of Berkshire. Its services are appreciable for the residents of the Berlins and managed by NHS Foundation Trust.

On other hand, HIT Entertainment serves in Entertainment sector which is a well-known British –American entertainment company whose genre is Children’s entertainment programs as well as for teen. Headquarter of the company is located in London, England etc. Both organizations have their own importance in their specific fields.

Organisational types and purposes of businesses

Royal Berkshire Hospital serves in the field of health care and was awarded “Excellent” for its immense services as well as its resources by the health care commission. Hospital have approximately 813 beds which is specifically divided for maternity patient or for acute diseases. It has a large number of expert staffs over 5000 and has annual budget of 228 million (Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust 2014). The accident as well as emergency department is sophisticated and efficient in the country with the excellent performance of 99 per cent patient seen or treated each day. The care quality commission has rated hospital with an outstanding remark. Health sector also plays an important role in hygiene and there are various laws are formed by government and Royal Berkshire follows all the laws. Health and hygiene of each and every individual is first concern of Royal Berkshire. In terms of Business, hospital management needs lots of investment, proper staff as well as services. It is very difficult to manage all the aspects as well as costing for an individual patient should also be concerned by the hospital management. On other hand, HiT Entertainment belongs to the entertainment sector which is profound company known as Henson Intentional Television which is well known to children’s,teens’and family television (Hit entertainment Limited 2019). From business perspective, this organization needs lots of investment to start the project .Writers, directors and producers are the most important part of this organization .Apart from that the public response is the main key of this organization. Profits as well as loss both are in the hands of public. So the most important thing is the content of any story.

This is because we have to keep in mind the public and its requirement. Both the organization has their different business motive one deal in health care and other deals in the entertainment industry. But the most important thing is that health care deals with an individual existence, it is a condition of do and die, we cannot see profit and loss in it (Burn and Dewhurst 2016).So we have to be very careful to maintain business in health care sector. Despite of the fact that entertainment sector runs only on business, profit and loss. There is a simple motto in entertainment line ,which is like  movie which runs it earns and that is profit, and which does not runs it is loss .So the main comparison of this two organization is that one deals with Do and Die condition of human and other with  just entertainment.    

Stakeholders of the organization

Major stakeholders in Royal Berkshire Hospital are Government, Public, Health Insurance, Hospital administrators & governing bodies and health care providers. The health care providers include Accident and Emergency Staff, Accreditation (licensing agencies), Assistant Practitioners, Audiologists, Board of trustees, Cardio-Respiratory Team, Catering staff, Charge Nurses, Chief Executive, and Chief Financial Officer. Furthermore, the stakeholders also include Chief Nursing Officer, Civil servants (United Kingdom), Clinical Coders Community, Health Centers Corporate office, Dieticians, Discharge Coordinators, Doctors (On Hospital staff), Domestic Staff, Electro-Biomedical Engineers and Housekeepers (Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust 2014).

The other stakeholders of the organization are Labor unions, Laundry Staff, Medical Students, Medical Technicians, Receptionist Staff, Security, Senior Nurses, Visitors, Volunteers, Ward Clerks and Ward Managers. 

However, in HIT Entertainment limited, stakeholders are 3D Modeler, Animator, Art Director, Film and Video Editor, Flash Animator and Graphic Designer. Some of the other stake holders of this company are Stop Motion Animator, Video Game Designer, Background painter, Cartoonist, Character Rigger, CEO, Chief Brand Officer and Color key Artist. Moreover, Compositing Artist, Concept Artist, Digital painter, Director, Lighting Technician, Story Board Artist, Texture Artist and Visual Development Artist are also the stakeholders of HIT Entertainment Limited (HIT Entertainment Limited 2019).

The stakeholders of both the organizations are different and the major difference can be seen in the internal stakeholders of the companies. The internal stakeholders are the ones who are responsible for the output and profit of the organization. In case of hospital, the internal stakeholders are responsible to deliver services to the patients (Leviton and Melichar 2016). However, in case of the internal stakeholders of HIT Entertainment Company, the internal stakeholders are responsible for the delivery of leisure and entertainment services to the organization. One has to work in a do or die situation and has to put focus on every individual. However, another one deals with every individual altogether. When it comes to the external stakeholders, some of the stakeholders of both the companies are same like government, suppliers and buyers. But the expectations differ in the case of both the companies. In Royal Berkshire Hospital the government want the hospital to follow proper laws tailed under government rules and regulations along with the safety and treatment of patients. Also, the patients want to get the best medication with affordable charges and best doctors. Whereas in HIT Entertainment Limited the main requirement of the public is to get entertained by the service provided by the company as this company’s main genre is children’s and teen’s entertainment (Manetti, Bellucci and Bagnoli 2017). One has to work in a do or die situation and has to put focus on every individual. However, another one deals with every individual altogether.

Conclusion

It can be concluded from the above findings that both the organizations are very well known and serves in two different sectors. One of them deals with the health care services and provide the best health and medication facilities to the residents and managed by NHS Foundation Trust. Whereas, the other one deals with the entertainment of public and serves us in entertainment sector, which mainly categorize in kid’s and teen’ entertainment program. Both the industries are different from each other in their fields but one thing that is common in both organizations is to provide best service to public.
