Now a days artificial intelligence is working in every field Including space, medical, defense, games etc. Many techniques is covered by intelligent system that work brilliantly and have ability to provide it many different form. An intelligent system has many quality like self learning and self repairing and it can also deal with unpredictability. It involves in you day to day life.

AI stands for artificial intelligence and it work same as we human do . We human do mistakes but machines can’t do any mistakes. AI is limitless.

Now the Question Is What Is the Intelligence?

Strong Artificial intelligence: Strong AI work on the pattern of humans it means strong AI and human have same intelligence. Strong Ai is also known as artificial general intelligence.

Weak Artificial intelligence: weak AI work on particular task for which it is designed and not able to do more than that. Weak AI is also known as tapered Artificial intelligence.

Difference between strong artificial intelligence and weak artificial intelligence

Speech Recognition: speech recognition is that ability of any machine through which it can hear and recognize word spoken by human and perform that task.

Virtual Agent: Virtual agent is popular now a days, it is totally new concept in artificial intelligence. Virtual agent is a character which is generated by computer and represented the particular website or company to the clients. This agent do basic conversation and as well as give answers of the queries of the customers.

Machine learning: Machine learning is the concept of Artificial Intelligence in which potential is given to learn and improve the programs with reprogramming the data.

Algorithms helps to solve the problems .

Deep Learning Platforms: Deep learning is nothing but a type of machine learning which utilizes the neutral networks to determine the different factors. Nowadays this technology is used for the recognition of patterns. These neural networks of different factors are comes up with a structure which looks similar to human neural system.

Biometrics: biometric use many different techniques for recognition of human physical traits. It is mostly use for attendance purposes in college, hospitals, and offices.

Artificial intelligence provide many option for defence through that they can plan strategic, operation and ground level planning.

  • Image interpretation for target identification and classification.
  • Expert systems for diagnosis and maintenance of sophisticated weapon systems such as radars and missiles.
  • Robotic equipment can be used to provide precision targeting support and carriage of ammunition and accuracy.
  • Camera equipped and shock-resistant platforms to provide fire power remotely are also possible applications.
  • Systems for diagnosis and maintenance of sophisticated weapon systems.
  • Missile target range and trajectory analysis for evaluation of kill zones, launch time and simulation to assist in qualifying missile performance in various environments.
  • Enhanced use of robots for Anti Improvised Explosive Device, extraction of personnel, firing of guns and other applications.

AI is deployed in almost every military application, and increased research and development funding from military research agencies to develop new and advanced applications of artificial intelligence is projected to drive the increased adoption of AI-driven systems in the military sector.

For instance, the US Department of Defense’s (DoD) Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is financing the development of a robotic submarine system, which is expected to be employed in applications ranging from detection of underwater mines to engagement in anti-submarine operations. Additionally, the US DoD overall spent USD 7.4 billion on artificial intelligence, Big Data, and cloud in the fiscal year 2017, while China is betting on AI to enhance its defense capabilities and is expected to become the world leader in this field by 2030.

An analysis by Market and it indicates that the market size of artificial intelligence in military is expected to reach USD 18.82 billion by 2025, at a CAGR of 14.75% from 2017 to 2025. Here are eight major military applications where AI will prove its importance in the years to come.

Warfare platform- forces from different countries across the globe are embedding AI into weapons and other systems used on land, naval, airborne, and space platforms. It is using less maintenance. It is also empower speed weapons for attacks.

Cyber security – Cyber security are most important in defence services. Military services is always on point of cyber attacker because military is the base of any country. Systems which is equipped with Al are safe because Al decode the network hacking and protect it from all the unwanted things.

Logistics and transportation – AI is playing a crucial role in military logistics and transport. The transportation of goods, ammunition, armaments, and troops is an essential component of successful military operations.

The use of Al in transportation can reduce human efforts in transportation and can lower the cost of transportation. It also predict the anomalies and component failures. Recently, the US Army collaborated with IBM to use its Watson artificial intelligence platform to help pre-identify maintenance problems in Stryker combat vehicles.

Target recognition – Al techniques are developed to get to know about the accuracy of target in any environment. These techniques allow defense forces to gain an in-depth understanding of potential operation areas by analyzing reports, documents, news feeds, and other forms of unstructured information. AI improve to identify the exact position of target.

Combat simulation and training – he US Navy and Army have each been conducting warfare analysis, which has led to the initiation of several sensor simulation programs. The US Navy has enlisted such companies such as Leidos, SAIC, AECOM, and Orbital ATK to support their programs, while the US Army’s programs are supported by firms including SAIC, CACI, Torch Technologies, and Millennium Engineering.

Threat monitoring and situational awareness – Threat monitoring & situational awareness rely heavily on Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations.

The system which is send on ISR mission are operated remotely or use to go on pre defined routes. They are using for threat monitoring and provide situation awareness to the defence personnel.

Al and data information processing - AI is particularly useful for quickly and efficiently processing large volumes of data in order to obtain valuable information.

AI can assist in culling and aggregating information from different datasets, as well as acquire and sum supersets of information from various sources. This advanced analysis enables military personnel to then recognize patterns and derive correlations.
