Dane has good communication skills which help him to take effective decisions for the organisation. The main motive of this is to engage all the employees and enhance the exchange of information between the employees so that the work will be more effective and productive. According to Dane if all the information is exchanged properly in the organisation then it will be really helpful to take an appropriate decision in case of any problem in the organisation(Murphy, Kurland,Rådestad&Rüter, 2020). Therefore the management skills acquired by Dane are very important for the organisation decision making process as this angle helps the organisation to take productive and appropriate decisions in the organisation.
The management skills acquired by Joe are delegation and problem-solving. Joe had a deep understanding of segmenting the work among the employees and motivates its employees in the organisation to perform better. Problem-solving is one of the most essential skills for team leaders to solve problems in the organisation without taking much time. This is one of the most important management skills required in the organisation to make an effective decision that increases productivity as well as the comfort of the employees. As management skills are very important for every team leader as it supports the organisation to accomplish the predefined goals of the organisation is a definite amount of time(Pattapola&Nandagudi,2017). There are three kinds of managerial skills that are the technical skills, interpersonal skills and conceptual skills. The skills acquired by Joe are the interpersonal skills which are very important in the organisation for the effective exchange of information in each department.
Leadership is one of the most important skills that must be acquired by every team leader or every executive in the organisation. Leadership skills not only help the organisation in all aspects of the decision-making process but also manage the working of the team. Leadership acquired by Nancy is team building and risk-taking. These basic skills are acquired by Nancy in order to manage the working of the employees and the external stakeholders of the organisation. Team building is one of the most important tasks for every executive because strong team will give effective and productive output for the organisation(Siebenthal& Hopkins, 2016). This is very important for each organisation in order to maintain communication among the employees and the outside stakeholder. Leadership is a skill that gives guidance to the team members as well as it also plays an important part in accomplishing the undefined goals of the organisation. All the members of the organisation need to engage properly and listen to the decision taken by the team leader.
The leadership skills acquired by the Dane are active listening and timely communication. Dane is one of the leaders who always focuses on maintaining the communication with the team employees and then take up decision which is very beneficial for the organisation as well as for the team members. He always decides against taking the advice of the team members and as well as the employees who are associated with the project. Discussion is the key element in the leadership skill required by the Dane. However, it is also noted that he always takes decisions that are beneficial to the employees because employees comfort is the main priority for him.
After discussing all the perspective of the project with each member of the organisation and after discussing each fact he takes a decision that is most favourable to the organisation and the employees(Chen &Rybak, 2017). This leadership skill is very important in the corporate world because timely communication eradicates various issues that may arise in future and also and helps in the present working of the organisation. Two leadership skills acquired by Daneare active listening and timely communication. These two skills are really important in the organisation to maintain the exchange of information within the employees and also within their leader and members.
Leadership Skill acquired by Joe is the ability to teach and mentor employees and creativity. Joe is one of the most interactive leaders among all leaders that are included in the study. He has the ability to teach and mentor perfectly all the employees and members of the organisation. As teaching is one of the most difficult processes for any individual and he has good experience in the teaching and mentoring the employees of the organisation. Apart from this, it is also noted that Joe is already the employee of the organisation so that he knows how to handle the employees and take the effective decision which is very crucial for the organisation to manage the operations(Sousa & Rocha, 2019). Joe acquired creativity in its work as it is very important to have creativity in the work to develop new ideas and new approaches in the organisation. Creativity not only helps the organisation to enhance the working but also aids the organisation to develop new approaches strategies of the planning process that minimise the workload as well as automate the processes.
There are various theories of leadership style that are required by different leaders to manage the working of the organisation. But the style acquired by Nancy is the democratic leadership style which is one of the most common and effective leadership style acquired by the leaders of the organisations. In this type of leadership style, the mentors take the advice of each team members and also give importance to the opinions of all the members in the team. As Nancy is one of the most experienced leaders and she knows how to handle the team members and respect their opinions by making effective communication and team-building with them(Horton& Epstein, 2020).
Nancyhas a democratic leadership style which helps to know the opinions of each member from inside or outside the organisation such as the farmers which are an integral part of organic farming. Therefore this leadership style not only helps the organisation to manage their work effectively but also aids the organisation to make communication more effective with the external stakeholder. This leadership style allows the employees to exercise authority which they will need to use wisely in the future position that they might hold. Democratic leadership style is one of the most common and used leadership styles which highly impact on organisation performance.
The leadership style acquired by Dane is the transformational leadership style. Transformational leadership is one of the leadership that always transform and improve the organisation conventions(Mendoza, Nasution&Matondang, 2018). The team members might have the task and goals that day have to complete within a week or a month but this kind of leaders constantly push the team members away from their comfort zone and help them to accomplish the defined goals of the organisation. This leader helps the employee to be creative and innovative in their work and help them to learn different skills that enhance their work. These leaders are considered as the most important part of the organisation in terms of innovation and creativeness. Dane always believes in teamwork and all the strategies and decisions are made as per the team membersopinion and their feedback on the approaches(Wert, Sowcik&Niewoehner-Green, 2018). All the members of the organisation need to have this kind of leadership to manage the information exchange between employees and leaders. Apart from this, this leadership style is perfectly fitted with him as the behaviour that he acquired in management is directly related to this leadership style.
The leadership style acquired by Joe is coach-style leadership. This leadership style aids the leaders to focuses on identifying and nurturing the strength of an individual or each team member in the organisation. These members help the organisation to acquire and focus on strategies that enable the team members to work better and accomplish all the defined goals of the organisation. As this leadership style is highly similar to strategic and democratic leadership. However, it puts more instances on the development and growth of individual employees. Joe working in the organisation therefore he highly knows the strength and weakness of the employees and the team members with he is working(Karagianni& Jude Montgomery, 2018). For this leadership style, the employee to improve their strength by giving them a different task or offering them guidance and practices that enable them to enhance their skills and competences. Apart from this as a manager, this is very important in the organisation working in terms of innovation and creativeness. The leadership style required by him is very common in corporate word to accomplish the predefined goals of the organisation and enhancement in the skills of the employees.
The candidate which is perfectly fitted with the organisation working is Nancy Drew. She has spent almost 20 years working for the organisation as a vice president of new product and designing. Experience and knowledge are very much important for the organisation to step up in the energy by industry(Alonderiene&Majauskaite, 2016). There are several skills that she acquired but the communication skills she had is commendable because that helps an organisation to accomplish the undefined goals of the organisation. As she is working for a very long time and oversees a team of workers which make decisions about the product to pursue and content marketing for each product. She knows how to communicate and guide the team members to not only motivate them but also helps them to acquire different skills that are useful for an organisation working. Wonder products want to bring their working in energy by industry therefore the experience gained by Nancy in the previous industry will automatically help Wonder products to manage the working and launch innovative products. She also manages the working between the internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders.
Apart from this, she also recommended that if the organisation can focus on maintaining sustainability and green initiatives in the product then it would be very beneficial for the organisation to expand its growth(Nguyen, Mia, Winata& Chong, 2017). Therefore, Nancy is one of the best candidates among all the three because of leadership style, management skills, leadership skills and the experience she had in the field of energy bars. Therefore the organisation needs to choose Nancy as the candidate for taking up all the responsibility of the new products that the organisation launch. She is one of the qualified candidates for the organisation in terms of making marketing at a high level and also to an established company in the field of energy bars.
The other two candidates are not selected for the organisation because the experience level that both the candidates have is quietly less as compared to Nancy. Apart from this Nancy have the leadership style which not only involves the opinion of the team members but also the leaders and directors. She always sticks on the best practices even if it is not possible to implement it but through leadership skills, she managed to work with internal stakeholders as well as the outer stakeholders of the organisation. Dane is a bit emotional person when it comes to employees and the comfort that the organisation provide to the members. He always tries to put the employees as a priority and yes it is very important to keep employees as a priority but not on the cost of firm success and the development of the organisation. However, Nancy highly evaluates and put these things in front of the table without any compromisation for both.
Apart from this, the main reason for not appointing Joe for this role is that it is difficult for the organisation to select another candidate for the position and again the whole process will be conducted. He is perfectly fitted with the role that he is doing in the organisation(Li, Gupta, Loon & Casimir, 2016). Apart from this, both candidates are highly qualified but they don't have experience in the energy bar industry and Nancy had experience in working with energy by industry which is the key reason for not appointing the other candidates in the organisation. Joe and Dane are not appointed in the organisation because they highly prefer to take sides of employees rather than taking decisions which keep the organisation on the priority. Nancy is one of the most preferable choices as compared to Dane and Joe.
It is concluded from the study that the entire study is based on the three scenarios which are related to the recruitment of employee for the new position in Wonder Products Company.
