The engagement of the community-based supports and services (CBSS) has been designed to help the older people and the adults, to provide secured services as per older people needs, assessment and requirements. Research indicates, that within Australia there are 20% of older adults (that are aged 60 and above) and have also been receiving active community services (Dwyer, 2020). The older services for the adults help to provide 90% of the services to the users and even aim to improve their medical condition (Lawn, Westwood, Jordans, Zabeen & O’Connor, 2017). To improve older people assistance programs, extended support such as personally involving various volunteers and programs that can improve the older people skills, improve their attitude for living, and also attaining a better control over their life (Zhang, 2017).

The older age people can feel challenge with the range of services, eligibility to gain assistance and can be unsure of how to attain them. By not knowing about their rights to attain assistance, it can be a barrier when improving their wellbeing as they hold limited knowledge on how to access them. The older people can feel engaged if they listen and the level of alertness can be restored through the subtle intonations. The principle of effective communication can help to convey the true mix of emotions and even provide support to engaged listening practices. Being an engaged listener can help to bond well and engage well. The community worker approach during the nonverbal communication is to understand how to connect with the others, to express how one means, and to overcome the challenging situation. Effective communion when understanding nonverbal communication can be through the expression, having a true meaning through adopting a subtle tone, behavior, and an attitude.
